Default low boost hesitation with v-afc hack?

I noticed that when my car starts to build boost, between 0-2 psi it hesitates a little then takes off. I'm wondering if anybody has had this problem running the v-afc hack? Someone told me I need a check valve but I thought the v-afc took care of that.

NO Check valve. That defeats the pupose of the hack and you computer will not add extra fuel in boost=blown motor. My vafc hack setup runs pretty much just like a factory boosted car except for a little hesitation when I step on it in first from a roll. If I launch the car its fine, but if im in first gear in vaccum then floor it it will go almost instantly into boost but hesitates for a sec then takes off. Any other gear the transistion is seamless but the turbo is not spooling that fast anyways. Thats the only drawback my car seems to have with the hack and its not a huge deal to me.

Try getting some 440's. I believe the hack is based off of 440's.

You are using 370's correct? How did your a/f look like at the dyno?

He's not running enough boost or volume (read: little turbo) to warrant 440's or 450's.

Yes, it's just like that. If I launch it and stay on the gas hard it's very smooth. If I'm going like 30 in 3rd gear and floor it, it will hesitate for a split second right when it starts to make boost. If this is common I will not worry about it, it's no big deal.

Instead of using 440's and leaning it out -40, I have 370's and am leaning it out about -28. My a/f is really rich on the dyno, probably bacause I also raised the fuel pressure just to be on the safe side until I get it tuned.

my hack runs like stock boosted car. only hesitation i get is while cruising when i go back and forth above/below 5% throttle. honda ecu shuts off injector pulse at 5% and lower for fuel economy i guess. when i step on it there is no hesitation.

you are running too rich. get to a dyno and w/b tune.
