HELP!!!Hitting wall at boost/load/wide-throttle!
I have a 1995 Integra GSR with t3/t4 turbo tuned with a VAFC.
when i drive nomrally, the car gives no problem and boosts nicely. if i get on it, the car feels like it's hitting a wall or something and sputters and backfires are 4000 rpms. anyone have any idea why? i have a feeling it has to do with the VAFC but what adjustments would be need to be made?

Re: HELP!!!Hitting wall at boost/load/wide-throttle! (Forgiveness)
How was the VAFC tunded? It sounds as if it wasn't tuned or not properly tuned. It also sounds that it is running to rich up high. My car had this problem before it was tuned, except mine wouldnt go above 2500 rpm (hitting a wall!) driving normal b/c the 440s were dumping too much fuel so, the VAFC had to be leaned out. Try to get a wideband on it to see the a/f or if it was tuned, try to get it tuned again. maybe somewhere else!

it was tuned by rpmnyc...a pretty popular tuning shop around here. to lean it out, would i go up or down in the settings? i'm not really too familiar with tuning a VAFC and i don't have the money for a UEGO right now.

a buddy of mine had a similar problem
whenever he hit boost, the car would basically go into limp mode
i think it had sumthin 2 do with the MAP sensor

it's the only tuner shop close to me.

hmmm... well since you already have the afc, replace missing link and fmu for some larger injectors and you should be ready to retune. i would personally recomend researching and then tuning the car your self instead of having some shop do it. especially a shop that tried to tune your car with the above.

I second this Guy......450's and a resistor box should do you good....but you better research the hell out of this before you blow up your motor from it because you didnt know what you were doing.....There are hundreds of threads about this too.......and NEVER pay someone to tune your car unless is Hondata or AEM, or some similiar EMS's IMO.

Double check this. The gap sounds like the culprate from your explanation.

Re: HELP!!!Hitting wall at boost/load/wide-throttle! (hondaguyef)
would the gap REALLY cause it to hit a wall like this under boost, but NOT under normal driving?
if so, what gap should i be using?

Tell me that you have an FMU to complet your setup, if not then stop using it now, you're missing something.

you dont need missing link with vafc.
also if you have a stock exhaust, there is a possibility of too much backpressure. It can cause your power to cut out like you describe. try open dpipe if possible.
