GT35R vs. SC63 ?!?
Hallo,
a friend of mine want to order his turbo in the next days and he is
unsure about the exact model to take.
GT35R or SC63
the hp goal is something in the 500-600 whp region.
the gt35r is very expensive so he thought taking the sc63 but don't know how
big the difference in spool up would be.
engine would be a 2L fully build b16
i know thats not much info but hope to get some comments.
Thanks
Malte

SC63 is more expensive because it's big shaft.

The ball bearing makes a bit of difference, but they are very similar given the same exhaust housing. I think going SC61 over the 35R is a nice way to save 500 bucks that could be better spent elsewhere.

on a recent thread. the gt35r took about 300rpm longer to reach full boost. but it made more topend power.
im debating between a pt61 or a pt71 at this point

The 35R took 300 RPM's longer because it was a .82 A/R hot side, vs. a .63 A/R hot side on the SC61.
A PT61 and a PT71 are a pretty huge jump to decide between. The 61 is like a 630 WHP turbo, and the 71 is like an 830 WHP turbo with a lot more lag.

yea i know. im leaning towards the pt71.
84.5mm sleeved ls/vtec. manley rods, cp pistons, fully built, ported and polished gsr head. Im probably gonna be running the car on c16 all of the time and my goals are around 700plus on c16

PT-71 is a nice turbo, try T4/T67

If you have the loot , Go with the GT35R. I love this turbo!
I have a Hybrid version of the 35R( My own concocksion), My dyno runs start at 4000 rpms and I hit full boost by 4800 rpm ( 20+psi) with a fantasic power band.
