IIRC golden eagle uses darton sleeves. depends on if you want peace of mind. i think jeff evans was making close to 600 on their eg when they were running power street. with stock sleeves. i know nasteboyii made over 500 on his b16 with stock sleeves.

with what u r saying i think that stock sleeves wil be ok, obviously it would be better to have it sleeved but is not a huge deal if you dont.

Never base a goal on psi, as different size turbos make different power at the same pressure level. Your goal is 400 to 480, so based on your setup, your tuner will use whatever psi your setup will give him to make your power goal.

Re: gsr turbo build
good info guys..i'm also stuck on the boat right now and need to decide if i'm sleeving or not this week. It might put me over my budget but peace of mind would be great after spending all this money.
OP sorry man i don't mean to thread jack but this could help you out too
I'm currently doing a build with a Peakboost GT3076R topmount kit on a B18C1. I was originally wanted to just do 9.0:1 cp or wiseco pistons, eagle rods, acl bearings, GE headstuds and more it .20 over. My power goal is 350whp daily with tuning on ChromePro (tuner is most comfortable with).
Do you guys think stock sleeves will suffice for daily driving? it is only driven about 5 months a year and if i can get three years outa it, i'll be happy to rebuild by then

Re: gsr turbo build
I've been told by certain tuners that they dont like going over 350whp on stock sleeves, and on the other hand. I've seen 600+whp on stock sleeve bottom ends. Its seems like a good idea to do a block guard though. If nothing else it could help salvage some of your parts. So that later on when you go to build another block you dont have to buy all new rods/pistons etc.

Re: gsr turbo build
we have seen 600 hp on stock sleeves but have also seen stock sleeves fail at 400 hp really depends on tuner. if you want to be safe and be able to make more power later with out having to start over again sleeve it if not be sure you have a good tuner and you should be fine. all a block guard will do for you is if you do crack a sleeve it will save the block so it can be sleeved with out one you might crack the sleeve beyond resleeving
