Default fuel pump has to be the prob., i think?

it must be, im running the blue box still w/ the greddy kit and i have had a fuel pump for awhile and i checked my plugs yesterday, they are blak, not that bad though but bad enough. i just thought that the fuel pressure would be good, but i guess im wrong. i am useing the walboro 255lph pump and running somewhere around 8psi and i know it's rich. think im taking it off, so it's for sale. just wanted to let you guys know? should i just stop using the blue box and use a check valve and fmu? i have them, but the fmu is 12:1 and thats too much, 6:1 would be better or maybe 8:1 what do you think?

guys what is making me run rich? i can't use the stock pump for 8psi, that is no good for 8psi. it won't handle the fuel demand i need. should i ditch the blue box? now that i think about it w/ stock injectors 8:1 wont work, maybe 10:1?

from what i've read... i dont think its your fuel pump. the blue box is only good up to 7 or 8 psi so if you want to boost more you should get an inline fuel pump, check valve, and 12:1 fmu. if you get a smaller ratio fmu you need bigger injectors. another setup is to get large injectors (440cc?) and a vafc to tune the fuel down. i would go w/ the second if money isnt an issue. and ultimately hondata is the #1 solution for most racers.

yeah thats all good and all , but im running rich now, not lean. i once tried to put the fmu and cv on and take off the box but i would turn on the car and when i reved it would shut off. do you think a 12:1 and the pump and cv would be fine for fuel? i think thats a bit much

Yea, kill the bluebox use 12:1 fmu, missing link and an inline. That's what I have and I'm running rich, not too back though. I need another bandaid i.e VAFC or hondata.

Have you seen the a/f ratio that the blue box produces. In a word: NASTY!

VERRRRY rich above 6000, VERRRY lean below 3000...dangerous inbetween there.

12:1, stock injectors, and an inline fuel pump is the only bandaid solution i would recommend. spendin more for a AFC hack is pointless. i rather go with Hondata in that case. if you wanna go with larger injectors, get 310s and 8:1. enuff said.

I totally agree with you. Only problem is he has a 97 ex (same as me) hondata 2b,p28 ecu and harness is going to run $1000 easy. VAFC $300-$350. . . $700 is a big difference. For 310cc injectors you'd probally be better off running 10:1. Just my opinion.

What is your stock fuel pressure?

I bet good money that the stock pressure is too high and you are fouling at idle. The stock FPR cannot bypass the fuel of a 255l/hr pump. You have to drill a bypass hole ala TOO.

Look for info on fuel pressures.
