FMIC (intercooler) License Plate Bracket....Thought I would share
This has worked awesome for me even though I have had it on for 4 days.
Thought I would pass it along to my fellow H-T boosters as this is a cheap, effective and attractive way to mount your license plate on a boosted honda without blocking the intercooler. Since most states require a front plate (IL in my case) it is much cheaper than a ticket for sure. Plus, I haven't done a writeup since dirt was invented...
A friend of mine works at a professional car stereo shop where they do lots of custom work on stereos, remote starts, alarms and K40 radar detection systems. Well with the K40 kit, you get this "universal bracket" with it. Most of the time, they don't use them and a co-worker at this shop, had this bright idea. So bright, I thought I would copy and post here! thanks James !!
Anyway, here you go. Parts used:
Bracket ($9 retail from K40....free for me. )
Screws used to hold bracket to bumper. Pretty strong IMO. You could drill all the way through and put bolts/nuts if you wanted (I removed the grills a long time ago so this would be easy).
Frame from a CRV...I went to my local Honda dealer and they had a ton of them. He just gave it to me.
I screwed the bracket onto the bumper normally where the foglights go then put the plate in the frame and used Stainless hardware from lowes (<$1.5) to bolt the plate/frame to the bracket. Wala!
Here is a link to the bracket I'm talking about. It is part A. The side with the 8 holes is what goes to the bumper Other side bolts to the plate.

Where it lists the price.

You don't like it? Don't use it.
