Custom Intercooler Brackets, will these work?
I am getting my intercooler soon, i want to see what I should to do mount the intercooler
I don't know how to weld nor i know anybody would do it for me cheaply...
then I found these brackets at my work place (not really my work place)
then I think I might be able to use these to mount my intercooler and my pipes
here is my plan, use this bracket to secure the Intercooler pipes outside the silicone hose, then use that holes to connect to a piece of metal, then bend that piece of metal and mount them to my car's body...
that means i am using ONLY two of these mounts, DO YOU GUYS THINK IT'S ENOUGH?
Then I can use one more of this bracket to hold one of my pipes... good idea??
I drew a picture of what i am going to do, give me some opinions
i know welding is always the best, but i really don't want to spend 50 bucks for somebody just to weld few pieces of metal
IMO
Does it ahve to actually support the weight of the intercooler? or is the intercooler sitting on a shelf or something? Will the intercooler bump or rub something else? (it would be bad if it does).
How else is it supported?

if your car was not a daily driver i would say half *** it, but since it is weld the brackets. between hitting bumps in the road and the movement of your engine your ic will bounce around alot.

i am saying use the brackets ON the intercooler's inlets and oulets
then connect those brackets with a metal, then bolt that metal to the car's body
i know that if the intercooler is secured good, i don't need to mount the pipes
but i can still use these bracketst to hold the pipes better, right??

SPEND THE BUCKS AND HAVE SOMEBODY WELD ON BRACKETS. That thing is heavy, it will vibrate all over the place with those hose deals.
BTW, My piping vibrates and rattles sometimes and annoyed the crap out of me..well since I just bought a welder I welded some bar steel brackets from the pipes on each side and bolted them to the bumper bolts. No more rattles

please weld pieces of angle on the top. if you need the pieces, let me know. Just do it right, your intercooler will thank you by not ending up on the interstate. ... and yes i saw what an IC looks like after its been dragged along the highway at 80.
Go to a place like midas or another muffler shop, they'll make small welds for 20 dollars. A hangar broke off of my racing medalion on the muffler. I took it to them and 10 minutes and 20 dollars later it was fixed, a little weld will not cost you much at all and it'll save u a lot of trouble down the road (literally).
JB WELD IT! sike, take it to a welder to get it done. the brackets would work im sure and the pipes on the endtanks are welded to the intercooler (which will probably support the intercooler just fine) but its always better to do it right the first time.
