Egt acting up
On the way driving home on an empty freeway, usually I drive at 80 mph and my egt reading is somewhere between 6.5 - 7.5, but tonight I decided to drive a bit faster and when I did the temperature of the gauge kept increasing as I accelerated and by 110 mph my gauge was almost hitting the danger zone. Im just wondering is that a normal function for the car to run lean on such high speeds?

Re: Egt acting up (NHB Fighter)
have you got an a/f ratio meter? were you in fact leaning out? high temps is usually a sign of leaning out though. whats your fuel setup like?

Re: Egt acting up (NHB Fighter)
Nah, that's pretty much normal. Cruising on the freeway at 60 mph = egt of about 1100F for me. At 75 it goes up to around 1250-1300, and at 85-90 it goes up to maybe 1350-1400 for me. I wouldn't worry about it too much, unless you're boosting during that time also. What kind of fuel management are you running?
