I never get the point of doing this beside the show factor. I would hate to clean up all that dirt coming for that dumptube. But that is just me.

It's on an Eclipse, so a bit different, but just shooting out options for you guys. And no, it doesn't heat up the oil, does leave some soot however.

avatar's set up looks nice and i even thought about doing something like that but after kicking it around for awhile i decided that it might cause for too much unwanted attention.

Looks to me like that would heat the oil up.

What size piping is recommended for making a dumptube?

I have a 38mm Tial and the exit flange was 1.5" in diameter. If you have that size WG get the 1.5"

Mine just dumps straight down. I used some old 1.5" exhaust piping that was laying around to run it down. It's probably about 6" from the ground. Loud as fawk when that WG opens up. And I'm only pushing about 8psi.

sorry to bring this post back from the dead, but do you guys think a dumptube is absolutely necessary with my setup?

I don't really have anything that is going to melt like ac lines and so far its been running fine.

Mine dumps straight down. The first time I got on it with the turbo on it I was like "WTF is that?!?!?". VERY loud.

I routed mine kinda funny....

But, I didn't know how else to do it, I'm running a Drag III manifold with the compressor on the driver's side...

It points down to the ground, no problems so far

To the best of my knowledge you dont lose any horsepower while externally dumping there isnt any dyno proven results on that if there are I would like to see them.
