Default Dumptube advice

Will the way my dumptube runs cause problems or will i be able to get by with this? You can't see from the pics but the bottom has an angle cut on it so its not pointed straight at the block, but it is still pointing at the block if you know what i'm saying.

No good can come of that. Definitely aim it away from the functional parts of your car! ;^)

That's going to cause a hot spot in your oil pan, and cause some other issues. It would be best to route it either underneath past the transmission or out of another direction.

Looks like a quick fix with a bend or flex tubing.

Will it help to shorten it and cut a sharper angle on it? my main concern is that the way it originally was was dumping directly on the hot side coupler/charge piping, the black extension wasn't on it at all.

Don't shorten it up. You should make it longer so it gets the exhaust out of the engine bay. I would add a little steel strap between your dumptube and downpipe too for more support.

Yes. Have the tube exit ouf of the engine bay entirely, otherwise your engine will just ingest more exhaust fume and lower power.

That can work as long as it's long enough, but you should strap it to your downpipe or something.

They move. I found out the hard way. These kids brought their Talon from three states away for me to tune. After half a dozen pulls it was making about 400whp and the flexy dumptube had moved and burned right through a front strap. It broke right at peak tq and the car came off the dyno sideways (stupidly we let several people stand near the computer and watch). Luckily I double footed it as hard as I could and no one was hurt...careful with your ghetto-rigs kids.

More concerned with the function than the look, but i agree it doesn't look the best. I don't have a welding machine at my house nor do i have a pipe bender so i used what was available to me to solve the problem at hand.

Point taken, i strapped it to the downpipe where it turns under the oil pan so i don't think i will have a problem with it. And i don't consider it "ghetto-rigged" nor am i a "kid" i simply used what i had available to fix the problem. Thanks for your input anyway though.

Easy there...I didn't mean any offense and I was refering to "kids" in a general sense, like "don't do drugs kids".
Don't take yourself so seriously man. I do things like that all the time becasue all I care about is if it works properly sometimes. I think you did a fine job if functionality is your only concern. Have fun with this stuff if you can...

The extra weight an vibration is going to cause the manifold to crack.
