Oil feed fitting broke inside theblock? Need some advice
As the title says the oil feed fitting broke flush on the block, since it is hollow there was a big hole. We tried to attach a tap to reverse it out, and the tap broke inside. JB weld was placed on the area several times with another JB wld putty also. My friend is pretty frustrated that his car continues to leak. Right now removing the block from the car to weld it is not an option. RIght now we are grinding the JB weld down to redo it as several things were not done prior to the JB weld install. The area was not degreased, not scuffed, and the jb weld was applied very thick. The car appears to only leak when it is running. Is there something else that can be done, or is JB weld the only way out besides taking the blck out????
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance

yah i broke a fitting on a turbo install i did, same thing, i just did 3 layers of jb weld, and it never leaked for 9 months, then the owner sold the car, so i don't think it's leaking to this day.

Re: (Quad-Damage)
jb welb can work under the correct conditions...clean surface throughly...just block it off entirely and run a oil filter sandwich with the feed line tap of that...good luck with everything

Re: (JDM_Risa)
Yeah, thanks fellas, He ran a sanwich and we actually put jb weld on b4 but it leaked up a atorm, so I had him grind everything back down and clean with brake cleaner. Since it is ground down the jb weld should bond to the metal better. ALso the jb weld got in there pretty good the first time since it was pretty solid and flush when grounded down. He is putting layers now, thinly to make sure that we get a good seal and bond. Thanks hopefully it works.
Plan be is to tak theintake mani off and call in a welder to weld the whole shut.

Re: (drintegra)
you shold of used this instead of the liquid jb weld
http://jbweld.net/products/jbstik.php
would of been easier to apply and stronger

Re: (option_2)
used that too, ontop of the liquid jb weld, but it does not seal as cleanly as the liquid since it is a puddy causing a leak. The area is ackward and has to get at thus not being able to smooth out the puddy. The liquid allows you to apply thin layers until it is all covered. I will see what happens tomorrow.

Re: (drintegra)
You will not wan to try welding this unless you remove buoth the broken tap and ALL JB WELD. If you try to weld without removing you will ruin the block.
Pull the motor and grind off all jb weld and try to remove the tap and broken fitting. Cut the port back some towards the block as far as you have to to remove everything, figure out a way not to get shavings into the oil galley and if you do figure out a way to get them out (might want to crank the car afterwards with no filter, crank don't start to flush out the shavings). Weld it up. Trying to do this in the car with all the **** you have in that oil port will not work.

Re: (hybrid_KJ)
Thanks for the advice, this is a lst resort type of deal as Blazin99SI (the owner) can not really afford to take the block out. We figured we could remove the intake mani, and weld after cleaning off the area. Can't we weld an aluminium plate over the area to seal it?
I will see if we can grind down some of the area enough to put some pliers and take out the fitting, but this seem s highly unlikely, but who knows. You live pretty close you should come down and help
