I was just wondering if there were any major drawbacks. It seems like it has the best of both worlds... power like a turbo, simplicity like supercharger. Any opinions on this kit?

 

I would buy either a turbo or the JRSC before I bought this kit!! The peak hp is higher than JRSC but it's powerband is tiny! You'd be much better off w/ a turbo, better powerband, intercooler, and the list goes on.....

 

Vortech , I wouldnt do this just because of the powerband. You wont make full power up untill the high rpm's. I would choose jrsc over this any day. Just go turbo !

word is people are having trouble hitting 13's with it... pretty great for almost 300hp huh?

 

My friend ran a 13.4 with a vortech si that was making 250 whp. I think that is a decent time. This is aftercooled though.

 

Wrong power is not like a turbo... the SC is very peaky, turbo may have a little lag followed by a huge increase in torque, the vortech just slowly reaches peak.. Im yet to see one run in person but hear nothing but bad things about 1/4 ET's..

there is a ghuy on clubsi that ran 12.9 with slicks, exuast header and some other little ****, go look at the boost section on clubsi.com
