Default JRSC on D-series

I'm conflicted, I've pieced together a turbo kit, that should put me about 200whp on 8-10 PSI.

But I've come across a seller selling a JRSC d-series, for $900 local pickup, 20K miles on it.

I do more backroads driving, and I'm thinking the turbo is not as suitable for this application as the linear power band that the SC offers.

Can anyone point me to any info on the D-series running an 8 PSI pulley?

I've got a walboro in-tank, hondata, and dsm 450ccs, to throw at the equation.

Please feel free to voice your opinions, on my dilema.

at only 900 dollas i say get it but only will get more power out of turbo. a nice small turbo can also spool quickly and giving that same supercharger instant power effect. my personal preference is turbo but do what you want man its your money.

Buy a turbo kit, you won't get 200whp out of a JRSC on a D engine.

The thing is, I don't know that I NEED 200whp. The JRSC might produce more usable power for the kind of driving that I do.

Anyone running a JRSC D-series at 8 PSI, maybe with hondata, that I can compare with?

I've seen people with Hondata struggle to pull 160-170whp out of SC'd D-series, and this is on 8-10psi.

You'd be supprised what a T25 or even a small T3 can do in terms of spool. Hell, the T3 I use in my GSR spools rediculously fast, I can't go more than 15-20% throttle without is spooling instantly!

I just happen to own a D16 JRSC with Hondata and Hondata Gasket
I'm running 8lbs. with an aftermarket nose pulley.
Hondata s200 using the JR/Hondata Big Boost kit map.
Intake and Exhaust.
I would recommend it to anyone who wants a quick daily driver. Prolly not as fast as a turbo, but quick nonetheless. It will come down to your driving needs. I chose it because I live in the city, and the stoplights here are very close tegether. I need instant response to get out of situations. If I were in the burbs, or drove on the highway more, I would've chosen a turbo. Hell for that matter, I kinda wished I saved up for a swap first. I figured that my engine was still good, and that I'll run this setup till I need a new motor (plannin at least 150k miles )and go with a swap then or buy a new car.
I'm satisfied with my choice, just make sure that you will be with yours...

SCD16A6, oh nevermind, I understnad now... I don't really consider the D16A6 a d-series... I was going to ask how you made such power, isnt'the A6 fairly high compression... ok.

I don't think I could expect that out of my Y8, at 8 PSI.

Keep the opinions coming guys.

I put a JRSC on my car since i do alot of driving in San Francisco, getting the jump on the other cars out there is nice.
Its cool to drive but my uncle just got a SRT-4 and I need to be faster than him so i am starting a turbo project now

Why don't you consider the a6 a d-series? The compression is 9:1, less than that of your y8.

I thought the D16A6 was the weirdo DOHC d-series one, maybe I'm wrong.... That's why I said I didn't consider it...

Am I reading that chart correctly ~200HP (crank, wheel?) at ~9000RPM?

I'm sold, hehe
