JSRC or Vortech
I have a few g's and am thinking about getting a supercharger. I have an Integra LS, and am debating about the JRSC or the Vortech SC. I heard good things about the Vortech, but I believe that it came out recently or something. Also alot of people with SC on an LS have JRSC. What should I buy? And wheres a good place to buy it form?
most people dont like the vortech, it gives good peak numbers but the jrsc is suposed to be better. if i were you id rather go turbo, if anything itll be a little bit more expencive and itll be faster. goodluck
most people are dissapointed with the SC for the LS. I would go turbo one the b18b. vortech has many disadvantages. the main on being the power curve is at peak rpms.

If you have an LS, then definately a TURBO.
If you have a GS-R, JRSC. I've seen Vortech SC'd GS-R's run CRAPPY numbers. And I've seen JRSC GS-R's run Low 13's and some even 12's.

From personal experience.... If I were to do it again I would go with a turbo set up for my ls engine from the "bang for your buck" point of view....
Do not get me wrong I love my super charger but for the price of it I could have bought a turbo kit and made more power with it, plus I don't like not being able to add an intercooler to it without heavily modifying it.
As far as the vortech goes I don't know personally so take it with a grain of salt, but from what I have heard people aren't to impressed with it...
On a side note to who ever told me to get the turbo instead of the jrsc on here (forgot your name) you were right and I am sorry
Its still fun to drive though

i was debating this...and the fact is you cant really get the gains you want with a supercharger in an ls unless you have a ton of money to burn. Im savin up to get a stock turbocharged car that i can actually make fast for not too much money
either way good luck
either way good luck
aight thanx on the info. i guess im gona have to wait till spring. i dont have the extra bucks for a turbo right now. anyone wana help donate to my turbo fund? lol

Turbo =
The vortech gives better top end (it actually kind of looks like a turbo) but the jrsc gives better overall power. The vortech has to kind of spool up like a turbo but the jsrc is a roots type and it doesn't need to spool up at all.
Turbo... An LS can't make much power supercharged.. It only revs to 7200 whereas Vtec engines rev higher, making them more suitable for superchargers as power output is dependent on how fast you're spinning the blower. Get a Type R(M62) JRSC and modify it for your LS if you want around 170whp for some extra oomph around town
... get a turbo if you want to hang with domestics and real sports cars

Turbo is the only way to go.
Then you havent seen many JRSC'd GSR's strut their stuff
I know of a couple guys @ 9PSI running low-mid 13's on street tires, and a ton @ 6PSI with high 13 slips. But thats not even the reason to get it IMO...never downshift, instant boost, easy daily driving, torque....its nice all around, as opposed to having a peaky powerband.

I have never seen a GSR with less than 10lbs of boost even hit high 13's on radials or street tires with bolt ons. S/C arn't the way to go with honda's, not enough torque to make good power and you get horrable traction and gas milage.
Turbo is the only way to go.

Anyway.....i'd still go turbo

Traction is all in the tires and whether or not you have a LSD. Also, won't a turbo kill your gas mileage too?
someone warn the forums below us that a whole lot of bullshit is flowing out of this thread
If you're comparing the vortech to the jrsc for your LS, go for the jrsc. It's a great mod, but not the best if you're into big power (because of the limits of the blower). If you're into big power, go turbo.
