Default D15 BuildUP

Im sure i will get flamed and asked why but here's what im doing. Im planning on building a D15-T. I want to build my D15 to run as much boost as i can. I was hoping to get some advice from the SOHC guys to see how there set-up is and how reliable. Im thinking about Eagle Rods and Forged Pistons. Just wondering on what people are running and if anyone has built a D15B before? Im sure they have. SO any advice on what i should run would be great. I already have a kit to be put on, my stock D15 now and im building one on the side. Im just tired of all the B series talk here in my town. So its time for some D series power to be put down.

I've been running 10psi on my D15b vtec for almost a year now with no probs. As for pistons and rods, good luck, there isnt anything for the d15b platform yet. If you want more info on my setup check my website, the link is in my sig.

with forged internals alone people have made 400whp. but high 200's is probably closer to the norm.

btw thats for a z6 or y8

which d15 are you running? If you have the d15b7, then i would suggest that you change your engine.

Don't give up so easy, D15 bottom ends had a better r/s ratio for spinning some rpm's. Forged bottom ends cost a little more but once they're built they are just as good as any D16. You could even toss a ZC head on it.

What would be the best BOV to run for my application. I only plan on boosting around 6psi. I have a TurboXS Type H RFL but it says for 10-25 psi applications. Any suggestions?

Sorry about that, i meant the d15b2 HF motor. If you have the 8 valve d15 i suggest you change that motor because it is useless. Its almost impossible to get power out of it. Even if you have the DX engine i would reccommend that you use the Si or ZC engine. That **** about the rod to strock ratio is overhyped IMO. I had my DX motor turboed before and it felt good, but the power is night and day compared to my zc. So if you have the money I would just go with a sohc zc or a d16a6 engine.

I'm not trying to overhype it, plain and simple the higher r/s ratio makes it spin better. Every little bit helps. With new rod bolts I've heard of them spinning to 8K no problem. Not like a Z6 can't do the same thing. If I had the money I would build my D15 with expensive internals and put a ZC head on it, thats just hot. It is actually cheaper to just get a D16 though .

I understand what you are saying about the r/s ratio but it has just been beat to death on here about the b16a having the perfect r/s ratio.

Well you might as well just keep the one that you have, unless you want to spend more money. I use a blitz bov and im pretty staisfied.

One thing that you should really get is some ARP headstuds. D-series heads are known for lifting.
