no reason I can think of why it shouldn't work as long as you have a good conversion harness.
I use a P05 on a 5th gen. Mines all OBD1 though

I believe there are a couple people on the uberdata board that are running that set up. Should have no problems as long as the conversion and everything is good like mentioned above.
