Default Can't get smooth idle w/ rc440's

I have a d16z6 with a 14b turbo, v-afc fuel control.

I cannot manage to get the engine to idle smooth, I have tried flooding it leaning it out, right in the middle, everything.

So I am wondering if rc440s are really needed right now? I am running stock boost on the 14b (which I think is 7psi). Do you think the stock injectors would suffice untill I reach higher hp levels?

I also have a walbro 255, waiting to be installed.

and I apologize but a side question, I keep having little issues with the coolant lines to and from the turbo. Are they needed or just the oil lines?

rc's have a lazer spray pattern as oppose to the eclipse 440s which most ppl use when running the vafc for fuel control...that probably explains your idle and no you shouldnt use the stock injectors and you dont need water lines to the turbo...

Seriously, just bite the bullet and get some real fuel control. D16Z6 should be OBD-1, go with Hondata.

Do you think a hondata will solve the idle problem?

Also you really don't think the stock injectors would flow enough for such a small amount of power?

thanks for the replys.

you dont need the water lines... just give your turbo suffiecent time to cool down when you shut the motor off.

I was idling RC 750cc with a base map just fine, but that's with Neptune I don't know what you have for management.
Edit: Yeah I think it's the Vfac that is your problem.

ive personally made uberdata idle 880s just fine. you should be able to do it too with the hack. i would recommend a wideband though.

I have a plx m500 wideband.

The idle just pops a lot I guess you could say. I am thinkin of just getting an s100 and having the car tuned.

Just Dynoed my setup below...

Hondata solves all of that ****...

idled great and pulls strong...

Shane is a great tuner...find youself a good tuner too...

163hp @ 6 psi at the wheels on the dyno

I guessing it's making about 20% more hp if rated at the flywheel...

so about 195hp @ 6psi rated at the flywheel... b-series killer..

At the track I'm going to turn it up to 10 psi....can you say....ITR killer...
I'm guessing it's going to be about 200hp @10psi at the wheel and 240hp @ 10psi at the flywheel...

What's your afr at idle? Is your timing stock? When I was using the hack, mine would idle smoothly at -25%. I know of a few others who had the same setup at idle.

You already have a wideband so do some more research and I'm sure you could tune it yourself. (hint hint Uberdata has been the best thing I've done to my car)

Oh, and everyone keeps saying to screw the coolant lines, but imo, if you have them and the option to use them, than why not? Put a lil extra effort into it and prolong the life of your turbo.

you already have a wideband, so save that 250...

find xenocron and have him chip your ecu $30-$50
maybe even have him burn you a base map so you can get around+ keep an eye on your wideband.

go on ebay and buy a cheap eprom burner... i got my willem for $45 works like a
charm!

next, go in my sig and click on the UBERDATA link and down load the latest version, there is also a forum you can read up on.

order some eproms and tune it your self....

thats my suggestion...

now with the extra money thats left over, you can send it to me!

just for some info on that, the latest is a little lean on the basemaps, so put the wideband on right away. Oh and I can get RC 750s to idle perfect, so it should solve that problem.
