Default Rough Idle w/Hack

I have my turbo on and running. Must say....Grrrreat. While I am driving the transition from vacuum to boost is like a factory turbo car. Power delievery is smooth. The idle on the other hand is rough. It idles between 8-900 rpm's, which is fine, but it runs like its on three cylinders . We adjust the 1k @ -40% which ran really rough, then bumped it down to -30% which seemed to make it quit stuttering but I thought that was rather low.... To my understanding, doesn't that mean that it is allowing more fuel @ idle?? Anyway any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all in advance.

When I was running 450's I had my idle set to like 38...seemed to take care of it most of the time. Just play around with it a little bit and see what you can come up with.

big injectors react slower so you may need a fuel setting that is more rich to get the right ammount of fuel. I have set up several cars w/ the hack and the the idle setting has been between -18 and -35 on all of them. You kinda have to drown it in fuel to get it to smooth out sometimes.

<look at how gay our blue cars look...

Thats good to know. If I get this idle problem squared away, I will be pretty impressed with the hack....(fingers crossed)..lol.

Thanks guys for the quick response.

Back from the dead for a quick question:

would raising the idle speed remedy the rough idle issue?

just set your hack at -35% to-38% down low 1000,2000 rpm should smooth it out. i had mine set at that with vafc hack and 750cc inj. and it idled perfect.oh yeah fuel press.of the rail was at 51lbs. i think thats it.

sorry didn't read all the way to the end of the post. but to answer your last question, it might make it idle smoother but at a higher rpm. Try and check the plugs if there fould out or not, maybe just replace them. turbo cars go through sparkplugs quick.

what kind of injectors are they? maybe you need a resistor box or inline resistors
