Default cannot raise boost above 7psi

I can't raise the boost above 7psi without the motor completely cutting out....it just shuts down. Does this mean my waste gate has a 7psi max spring in it? If so do i just change the spring?

Please dont tell me you just threw a turbo on your car and drove it like that. Im pretty sure your wastegate has a 7psi spring in it.

Yea it sounds like the car isnt maybe getting any fuel and falling on its face under boost. That would be a bad thing.

I have a stock block gsr with a drag kit and hondata. I also have a walboro hi-vol in tank fuel pump and 440 cc injectors. It was fully tuned on a dyno at 6psi, but that was before I had an electronic boost controller. At that time I had a manual one which didnt work properly and would not raise the boost. So i just recently put a profec b spec II in, and tried to raise the boost to about 7.5 psi and the motor just shut down at about 4k rpms on a 4th gear pull.

they set your boost at 6.5 probably. most shops tune for reliability so thats were its most likely set at.

does the car just absolutley die or sorta cut out like its leaning out ? what does your a/f say ? egt ? anything ?

Next time you tune, tune for a max boost setting, that way, you can run any X psi of boost lower than 15psi.
