Default Building motor for boost

Hey I'm fully building a d16a6 block for boost and I would like to know what kind of pistons I should get and I'm going to boost it at about 16-20 psi and I was also wondering if a block guard could hold that or if I should go ahead and spend the money to sleeve it

What horsepower you looking to get? PSI means nothing until you set that goal and the turbo to get you to that horsepower level.

You have to figure out what sized piston you need for your application. 75.5mm seems to be the popular choice. Block guards and sleeving really isn't necessary.

You changed the Z6 to an A6. Check that site. They have a kit to fit.

You should be able to build it the same and reach that but from what I read you won't get there without a good cam. I'll be following in your shoes this summer so I'm researching this as well.

I'm going with the KIT form FJT until I read something that tells me otherwise. As far as cam I'm thinking of something like Bisimoto's level 1.2 turbo cam & cam gear or the Zex 59300. Still researching.

You could do 300hp with Suzuki Vitara pistons. Search for it.
No really... search! There is an aftermarket brand that has a coating that works for boost.
No sense in paying $$$$ if you can do the same thing reliably with the Vitara's.

It's your rods that you need to pay special attention to.

Why do they sell block guards still? Don't buy one - they are a bad idea and you don't need it.

As it was pointed out to you in a previous reply, PSI means nothing unless you tell what turbo you are using. For EXAMPLE: 14 psi off a small turbo will produce the same power as 8 PSI of a large turbo.

If it was me i would get 8.5:1 comp. wiseco pistons and eagle rods. For the cam get the zex 59300 cheaper then bisimoto. Get it balanced too. I built two fully built single cams. My blew up because i didnt have it tuned and my wiring harness leans my injectors out when im in boost. Check my thread.
