Boosted OEM P30, Max ign adv. ?'s
Crome P-28:
Currently I have the car at around 17.25 deg at about 9.4psi... and 15.75 @ about 11.2... on a 57 trim
I have run into problems with ringlands on these pistons, and am a bit shaken by their temperment. Seeing how crome and freelog are limited, I really cannot get a good idea without some det. cans how far to go...
Anyone chime in on what their max adv. is past 6500 on an oem build? Specifically on a 10.5 motor
I run 18deg on every other motor but this one
John, chime in !

Im at 16deg at 16psi on a stock LS with a much smaller turbo. Held up for almost 2 years, no sign of detonation, plugs come clean.

one thing you have to realize about detonation is that it doesnt occur at peak rpm. it occurs at peak tq or peak cylinder pressure. so that is why you want to use a dyno so you can monitor where peak tq is and pull timing away and then once peak tq starts to drop then you can slowly add timing back in until peak rpm.
