Best Junkyard Turbo for 6-7 psi: Saab T3, or DSM 14b or DSM T25?
What should be included with a used factory turbo? hard lines, oil lines, coolant lines, exhaust housing, WG parts, what else?
what manifold should I use? HF? or will a CX/VX do? can I keep a/c with a 14b turbo?
where can I get a downpipe fabricated? how much will it cost? or is there an OEM downpipe I can use?
Is there a COMPLETE oil feed/return whatever kit I can buy that is all-encompassing? What about running coolant lines?
WHICH ENGINE MANAGEMENT METHOD do you recommend? I'm thinking:
1. SMC or SMC+
2. FMU
3. Missing link
4. Walbro 255lph pump (possibly, maybe not for only 6-7 psi)
I don't think I'm going to run the hack because I've heard that it runs too much ignition timing and causes detonation.
can I use OEM charge pipes and radiator hoses? or should I just get some piping fabricated? I don't want to spend more than $80 for piping, if that.
I have other questions, I'll think of them later. Thanks in advance!

1.) it depends what they include with the turbo, try to make sure you get the o2 housing and that it isnt cracked
2.)all those manifolds work, i personally used a CX, try to avoid the std
3.)downpipe should be under 100, dont get under 2.5"
4.)After much research, i have found that running the coolant lines is not necessary, as seen http://www.teamnabr.com/pubforums/ul...c;f=5;t=003020 , but if you dont run the lines, be sure to let it idle after boosting
5.)im not even gonna touch the management q, to much debates over that, i personally run 6 PSI on a ZC with just a Vortech 12:1 FMU
6.) im using stock 1st gen dsm pipes, a little custom ****, all under $60
definitely get either the 14b or T25, t25 isnt good if you plan to boost alot later on, i have the 14b

I have figured out how to get the cheapest setup. Become good friends with a DSM guy who just started upgrading his ride. I got all sorts of DSM stuff from my friend for real cheap and/or free . Go 14b if you want power all the way up top, and t25 if you want quick spoolup. Personally I like the 14b because hondas are made to go to high rpms and I wouldn't want my power to fall off.

dont do anything when you can get a Apexi Kit for 1200 shipped
hell yeah i second that. get a decent turbo kit. You'll have less headaches down the road. And unless you really feel comfertable with putting together your own turbo kit, don't try it or else it's gonna cost you more in the end.

ok if you are going to use a t3 then the wastgate is going to hit the block. and if you turn it around the other way the watgate hit the rad. and the exhuast is a bitch. A 14b has that wack j pipe you have to work with and not to metion they tend to be pretty old. I say go with a t25. bolts up great.. easy to run charge piping. and not to mention you can find one with little miles on it.

14B will spool later but not crap out on the top end.
HF manifold is the best for spool since its runners are smaller diameter than the CX and Std. Smaller runner, higher gas velocity, quicker spool.
If on a D16, the redline is low anyway so this will be a mid-rpm screamer.
T25 is what I run, it spools fast and was easy to get on the car. It is the simplest design and theya re dirt cheap from the DSm guys. Like $100 or less with low miles.

t3........you can relocate the wastegate on different bolts on the compressor housing so it clears everything. and ti will make more power of the 3.

I have a T3 w/ D16Z6 and the wastegate hit the block a little. Is it ok to trim the block a little so it will clear?

Re: Best Junkyard Turbo for 6-7 psi: Saab T3, or DSM 14b or DSM T25? (cvcc)
I don't know guys, for some reason I'm thinking T25. the downpipe is easier to fabricate and doesn't have as harsh of a bend, allowing a/c to be retained easier. better throttle response, lower mileage, and lower price because the DSM guys want a turbo that can support more boost. I only want to run 6-7 lbs. on stock internals, so I think that for ME it might be a better choice. What do you guys think? I'm open to other options as well.
Plus, where is a good place to get a downpipe and charge/IC piping fabricated? In the Twin Cities, I mean? Thanks guys!

you will have to convert to an external wastegate if u want 6-7psi. He wastegate on the t25 is suppsoed to be about 8psi, but i keep spiking like a **** and it evetually settles down to 10psi
It pullsl ike a **** til my clutch slips at aroudn 3500

I used to run in that area years back. My friend had some exhaust bent at a little shop over by bebops bar in Blaine. Don't know if the shop or bar is still there, but they were dirt cheap back then...

what did you dyno at? do you have a full listing of your setup? I.E. mani, bov, fuel management, etc.?
