Basic setup advice
I've got a D15b2 in good shape on my 91 hatch. I'm planning on putting in an SI cam and a good head gasket next weekend.
My plans are to turbo it, since its a daily driver and a not very robust engine I was thinking I should only run about 3.5 to 5 lbs of boost. What I wondering is how do I control a turbo to only put out that much boost and no more?
I have a small garrett T? AR 42 from a local yard that I want to use. It has an internal wastegate on it. Do I need to replace the oem wastegate to lower the boost or is there some other method of that I should do?
I also have a bunch of questions about injectors and turbo edit but thats for another day.
Any help would be appreciated.

have it tuned conservatively and u can run more than 10 pounds of boost with no problem, the more you research the more you will realize this. That motor costs nickels and dimes at a junkyard so don`t worry too much about it. I forget which engine that is but a lot of people have been making junkyard turbo kits with the civic hf exhaust manifold with a t3 adaptor plate as it is extremely cheap but very suitable, i would suggest a DSM(turbo eclipse) side mount intercooler, blow off valve, 450 cc dsm injectors(with resistor box) a walbro 255 fuel pump, adjustable cam gear, and some kind of ignition upgrade. While you have the head of you should install ARP heads studs to keep the head from lifting an possibly warping under boost, should complement the head gasket nicely

So other than relying on your waste gate, is a manual boost controller the way to go to prevent your boost from going over a certain amount?
