Default b18cgsrturbo's Dilemma: GT(X)3076R, GT(X)35R, PTE5858 or PTE5862. Choose my weapon

I know this has been talked about many times lol. Ive read thread after thread and can't get a staight enough answer to help me decide on a turbo... I have a built b18c gsr 81.5mm (stock sleeves tho) 9:1 compression, full race ramhorn manifold. I'm shooting for 420-480whp on torco 100 octane and unsure which turbo to go with.. garrett gt3076r 82a/r, gt35r, precision 5858 or 5862. Thanks guys!

It comes down to preference and where you want the power to be in the curve as all 4 of those will make the peak # you are aiming for.

IMO this turbo fits the bill nicely, and will probably have a more usable powerband than most the turbos you listed, with room to make more power then your goal in the future. I’ve seen many members here have great success with this silver surfer turbo from stc. Definitely worth checking out.

I'd definitely support the Silver Surfer for this as well.

That's a bit more like it.

This really is a no-brainer, if you want the best performing turbo for the job an STC silver surfer or STC TR3030R are hands down what you'll want.

I would like to add that anything below ~700whp, you'll want to use .63 a/r. Spools much faster and doesn't choke the top end

Still looking for turbine efficiency statement from garrett on the g25 turbos. Compressor looks VERY good but
id still keep it real with the 55mm tiny turbine and got for the 550 version.

Yeah, you're not going to get that from them, sadly. You gotta try it to see.

I just wish Garrett products weren't quite so expensive. For about the same money (a little less actually), you can grab an efr turbo that has not only an IWG (potentially savings of a couple hundred bucks, only sacrificing some boost control) and an integrated BOV (another couple hundred bucks saved, and keeps turbine speed up between shifts). At the very least you save money with the BOV, and users have been reporting some ridiculously low RPMs where they see positive manifold pressure.

For the 2000+ range, seems like a no-brainer to me.

Again, ours more on turbo size. The extras on the EFR are enticing, but they still don't Substitute the designs of both. After certain doses, these options are still that: options. They still cost as much as the Garrett ball-berating even without the solenoid and BOV.

Good **** costs money. Y'all gotta just start accepting that. Our just keep buying monkey turbo and complaining about how badly they operate
