This here is my personal Darton block (which is gonna get the vtec head treatment using the AEBS studs) with the MOD1 sleeves.

Im far from an engineer but I cant see how motors that are sleeved like that can even cool themselves. The water jacket capacity is reduced by like 90%. How does the engine NOT have major overheating problems with hot spots?</TD></TR></TABLE>

Like others have said, it's not a real big concern. Why? Ever looked at a headgasket? Notice how there are only small holes around the water jacket?

The sleeves dont take up 90% of the cooling jacket. The closed deck is only .75" if I remember correctly.

Anyways. I got my AEBS studs yesterday. Super nice!! I will be assembling this week and hopefully have the car back on the road next week sometime.

These blocks have no issues whatsoever with cooling. This is common misconception. You will have more of a cooling issue if you were to remove the shroud from around the factorey fan.</TD></TR></TABLE>

As far as daily driving with with an AEBS sleeved block, will cool ing issues come into play? Currently in the market for a daily driveable sleeved block.

I dont think the AEBS or any closed deck blocks would have cooling issues. THIS IS A COMMON MISCONCEPTION! This **** got spread around years ago by people who purchased block gaurds (then got dragged into sleeves) that were not drilled properly and did not line up with head gasket coolant jacket holes thus causing cooling problems.

My personal sleeves are the old design, or same as AEBS current design.....and again for the umteenth time, I have never had cooling issues even using my stock sohc single core civic radiator with stock fan and LS water pump.
