Pretty sure the b16 and the itr have the same gearing, so throw a quaife in either one and you're set. Plus the b16s are gonna probably be easier to find.

I have a GSR and its awesome...but now that I'm making 400+ hp...I get to like 130mph in no time and I really would like for the longer gears of the LS.

why?
youd be slower? you want to get there fast.
b16 or b18c1 is the best.
use the search too..this has been discussed soo much

98+ JDM ITR Tranny... shortest final drive, LSD, closest 4th and 5th gear, its been proven to shave between .1 and .3 off peoples 1/4 times.

honestly, picking the right trans for a boosted or na car is more complicated than just gearing. One needs to find out the target hp, tires used, etc... I have seen guys swap out a gsr trans for a type r trans in a boosted gsr and found that quarter mile did not change one bit. I have also swaped out their close ratio itr/b16 trans for a gsr and go faster down the quarter because they no longer have to shift into 5th gear. So, here is my honest opinion, stick to the gsr trans if your car is basically a drag/street car. If your primary goal is a street car, the b16a gearing is killer on the street. Or if a freeway car is your cup of tea, choose the ls trans. Can you say 170mph in 5th!!

the best tranny for a honda is the one that puts you at the peak or just after the peak of your powerband in 4th gear. that is the BEST tranny.

i like my ls trans with r final drive and diff, it's sweet, right now the b16 doesn't have the bottom end to pull the gears nicely but once it gets going it's cool, the 2.0 was crazy with it though

Re: Report: Best tranny for boost..... (SiRkid)
I know what your getting at. I know bout the stupid belief that stay in boost longer, yada yada. I know shorter gears, more acceleration (granted traction is there).
My point is, I'm in 5th gear before I know it. Sometimes 120 or so just isn't enough to really put a hurting on that Z06 or 911 turbo. I, for one, don't like boosting in 5th. I just don't feel safe. What I want to do is just put an LS 4th and 5th in my GSR.

Re: Report: Best tranny for boost..... (Vadian)
so then basicly the best thing to do would be build a gsr tranny up with LSD and a 4th and 5th LS gearing?
