Default Another Overheating problem

So I installed a turbo kit on my friends car this weekend
The car is a Civic hatch and the motor is a Gs-r
We drained the coolant from the block cause we wanted to change the drain plug cause it was leaking a lil bit.
We also put a slim fan from pep boys on there
The raditor is a dual core del slow rad

So heres the problem, first of all the motor still has seen no boost
It runs fine driving around like city driving
But after about 20 mins of hwy driving it starts to overheat.
We started the car for about 15 mins with the rad cap off and couldnt add anymore fluid in it.

I put my hand behind the fan to make sure the fan was kicking on and it felt it blow on my hand so its working properlly

We have never had a problem with this car over heating b4 so i really dont know why this is happening now

Any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks

I had to throw a full-size on to solve my problem. Maybe its something little you overlooked, but it sure sounds like my same situation.

This one is air in the system.

YOU DIDN"T BLEED IT LONG ENOUGH.

Don't forget to turn your heater on as well.

I also had to upgrade my radiator when I went turbo b18c1. It would overheat on the freeway and at the track.

Well last night i bleed it twice

I turn the car on with the heat at full blast and the cap off for like 15-20mins
the fan didnt turn on for a good 15 mins which when it did turn on it suck up a lil bit of coolant than let it run for a lil bit longer like 5 more mins
but ill test it out today after work and hopefully that fixed the problem

cause the IC and fan are from my friends car bascially the same setup just that his car is a 2000 Si and this car is a 95 hatch and he never had a problem with overheating with that fan and the IC combo

on that full core radiator, do you have one or two fans going to it?

Possibly you need to step up to a thicker radiator, all aluminum one and put a 2nd fan on it for ***** and giggles. It couldn't hurt.

The problem seems to be mainly with EG style civics equipped with halfsize radiators; it's aero related.

Its the del sol double core rad with one fan on the front facing the motor and blowing toward the motor. Its not a full size rad its a half size but twice the thickness of the stock one. the IC is the Greddy type 31 nothing huge but not small
