Default Over heating problem.... HELP please

First off I drive a 97 civic ex.. Lately I have had this problem where my car tends to WANT to overheat, what i mean by WANT like on the temp. gauge it gets about 2/3 of the way before hittin the H then my fan turns on and it goes back down to normal, well the other day I had the AC on and it started to overhead except this time my fan didnt turn on (radiator fan), but the ac fan was on just not the passenger side 1, and it was almost about to hit the H so i turned it off.. N-e suggestions on what this might be or whats causing it?

Thanks in advance

Does it over heat on the highway or just in traffic/at idle?

What is the level/condition of your coolant?

Definantly check your coolant level, that is the 1st thing, then go from there.

What does the fluid look like? Drain it and re-fill it using a bottle of Redline Water Wetter. It's good stuff.

hey i had a similar problem, find your fan relay switch, check if its good if it is, check the connector cap that fits over it. sometimes the cap has a bad connection with the switch. easy fix. good luck. peace
