2 stripped manifold bolts, many cuts and bruises later, another Honda goes boosted!
Hi guys, I have so many questions right now, but after spending two days on the install and feeling a little light headed (prob from the exhausts), I just got one big concern.
After test driving it around for a while, i pop my hood and some smoke (greyish) comes from the exhaust manifold/turbo...i can't really tell where its coming from, but it smokes up a little. Am i not getting oil to the turbo?!? or is it just crap burning up???
i'm hella tired man, but I just want to give thanks to the people and their posts on this board, i would have never gone turbo without it! and special thanks to Steve at turbocivic.net!!!
here's my very poor basic setup
99 Civic EX- Greddy TD04, Type-S BOV
-open downpipe (not because i want to be turbomafia bad asses , but cause i can't get that damn cat back on, haha, i smell!)
-Type 31 intercooler on backorder
-Neuspeed sportsprings, RS*R exhaust, Progress sway bar, some wheels
I wish I only knew about turbo earlier...and yes, i would have started off with a DOHC, but forget that now, i only have time for turbo.
laters.

thats ok that you have a little grey smoke. it is just paint from your manifold/turbo/downpipe burning off, also any oil from your hands that you got on these parts will also smoke off once the metal gets hot. the little bit of grey smoke is normal, it should be gone soon though. enjoy boosting

I have the same car you do, soon I will be turboed, nitroused (small shot to lessen spool times), and built looking to run mid 13's w/ a D16Y8 at the track. Good luck with your car.

Cool, i just got back from the gas station and I think the smoking stopped, now I gotto figure out whats making this rattling noise, I think my downpipe might be loose. Man, I don't even want to go to class tomorrow, I just want to drive
