Re: (1BADEGDC2)
a blow down tube is required to run at the track. 70 shot is fine on the d15, run atleast premium, retard the dist 3 degrees, and you better run 14's on street tires

so i didnt retard my timing, i dont know how, i did a 75 shot and on drag radials i ran a 15.5 ... i sprayed in all gears too! i also ran some ngk plugs, they werent cold plugs, i think i did alright. on the 1st run i bogged, i didnt launch high enough, and same thing on the 2nd exept i did a lil better, but still bogged, i only got 2 runs in 3.5 hours, it sucks! but i think i can get it in the 14s with a lil more practice and tuning!

so on the way home i raced another car, and when i was racing i noticed when i hit the nitrous it seemed like if i was pushing the button on and off, kinda like if it was stuttering, the car would pull, then kinda slow down, then pull again, anyone know what this is? i pulled the bottle off for now, thanks for all the help

did you do a compression test on your motor before you sprayed it?

Why would you install nitrous and not take the proper precautions, such as retarding the timing and running colder plugs?

Re: (mac_24_seven)
i have a few nitrous questions if anyone can help me.right now im running a b18a1 with b18b1 head, crower 402-a cams, crower valve springs and retainers, blox intake manifold, blox 70mm throttle body, jdm 4-1 header 2.5 collector, cold air intake, xenocron 255 fuel pump, fpr, golden eagle fuel rail, stock injectors, 12 lb flywheel, and b16 tranny. i have a zex dry 75 shot kit installed on the car my question is the 75 shot ok to run if i change the stock pr4 pistons for a set or pr3 pistons? that will be bumping my compression from 9.2 to 10.9 with my setup.also what should i retard the timing to? zex says retard the timing 4*,also i have a friend who has a set of flat top pistons, and i was just wondering if they would be better or the pr3 pistons for nitrous. any help would be appreciated

From experience... My 302 was built with uber cheap (like $7.00 a piece) Badger hypereutectic pistons (non forged)
It was sprayed for YEARS with a 100 shot and was fine. Kinked fuel line and 150 shot got piston #1.. otherwise it would have continued to work just fine.
BUT, it was tuned properly and had the proper components (MSD Ignition, colder plugs, had 2 fuel pumps in line, ect)
SO, from that... People run 75 shots all day long with stock engines. you'rs is obviously not stock, but with the proper precautions, I don't see where you'd have any problems.
