B16 VTEC Turbo issues: VTEC does not engage.
Kind of have 2 questions here. My b16a turbo is at the tuner right now and he can't get the VTEC to engage. Oil pressure is good, no check engine light, coolant is getting up to temp, etc. Thinking it's possibly the VTEC solenoid but it looks like it's pinned to A4 hes going to double check tomorrow. And no CEL for oil pressure switch so I don't think that is an issue. What else should he check? Also he dynoed it and without vtec he is only pushing 200whp. I was hoping for 350ish (b16a Eagle Rods JE pistons Turbonetics 5857 e85 on 15psi) is it possible I will gain an additional 150ish hp when vtec is working?

What engine management?

Odd. Unless something in the settings is not allowing it to engage. That'd be where I would look. I have a monitor for my VTS in Neptune, not sure if you can in S300 or not, but that let's me know when my solenoid kicks. Other than that, I'm not much more help here, sorry.

What ecu are you using?
Check all vtec parameters Smanager. It has them for ECT, vehicle speed, RPM, etc. If any one of the parameters is not met, vtec will not engage. Is your VSS working?
Can check vtec output with a test light on the wire from the ecu to rule out the solenoid.

Is this a freshly built B16A ??? Has VTEC ever worked on this engine ??? (Example: Stock B16A ran fine before... then I installed a turbo kit and now VTEC doesn't work).

The car is freshly put together, I pulled the engine from a previously turbo b16 del sol that was running when purchased but I never checked to make sure the VTEC engaged. Running Hondata s300. ECT, RPM, and TPS all appear to be working in smanager I'm thinking the eBay obd0 to obd1 harness wasn't wired correctly.

Try to bypass the harness and run your own wires direct from A4 to the Vtec solenoid and D6 to vtec pressure switch.
Check datalog to ensure ecu is sending vtec signal, should show VTS: ON above the specified RPM

Re: B16 VTEC Turbo issues: VTEC does not engage.
There's a number of things that will cause vtec to not work. I see this fairly often on rebuilds.
First, he can turn on vtec solenoid feedback, if it's not wired up it will throw a check engine light when vtec is supposed to engage.
if the ecu is for sure doing its job telling vtec to engage then I would look more toward solenoid it's self, dirty solenoid screen or possibly the middle cam cap dowel and o ring missing.
