There are lots of requirements for vtec to engage, look them up and start there.

I had this problem on my b16 and the car wasn't wired for vtec so I had to run them right to the ecu and the wire for the vtec pressure switch and the vtec solenoid were switched.....easy fix

^~~ highly unlikely many things can cause vtec not to work. such as low oil the engine being cold etc... also clean the vtec solenoid screen. who ever wired ur vtec may not have got a good connection at the ecu.

Bro just goto the junk yard and find a civic or teg, grab some wire harness with plugs attached with male and female pins, and wire vtec the right way, it also looks hella cleaner this way... I can walk you through it if your interested, otherwise just be ghetto and GL finding out what's wrong... No Vtec can be multiple different things, I'd start by checking oil, than wiring, screen, actuator, etc...

double check your electrical connections from the vtec solenoid to the ecm. then vtec filter screen gasket is dirty or clogged replace it well replace it anyways cuz they cost very little from honda. also check the plunger on top of the solenoid with your finger if it doesnt move freely when u push the plunger then thats your problem
