Well everytime I've tried it the wax beaded after a rain or two and then the next wash or rain after that it just did nothing..Looked like the car had never been waxed. The look of the wax goes away quick as well as any beading/sheeting, so I can only guess the wax does not last very long at all-2-3 weeks in my experience. While I know meguiars claims this wax is designed to sheet rather than bead, I dont see why initially it beads and then after about 2 weeks any beading/sheeting just falls off.

If you have suggestions on anything I should quote to put in the first post, PM me and I'll see if it can fit.

Weird. Mine lasts weeks at least. When I put new wax on after about a month there's no problem with water not beading from the previous wax.

I think he means dried up dull wax left from previous wax jobs.

What would you suggest for cleaning my windows / mirrors? Everytime I wash, I get so much dust build up on my car. Then I get water spots all over my windshield. (My car is yellow so yeah, it's kinda obvious and bugs tend to crawl all over my roof)

If he means dried wax, if it's really difficult to get off and doesn't come off with time or a wash, polish usually takes it off.

I use Invisible Glass for windows and use Rain-X on the exterior. Dust isn't exactly anythign you can help if you park outside.

I have some odd swirls or something on my hood, when I wash my car, the water just goes right off those spots, and they dry odd. Should I polish and wax, or just wax or what?

Sounds like something's on the paint, so I'd try polishing first, then at least wax it (I like glaze after polish but before wax, but not everyone does and not everyone can find it).

Thank you.

I can't remember how much they charged where I used to work. They used buffers there though and the cars came out well, but I wouldn't be surprised if I were to look closed (like have it for a day) that I would find something to pick at. I'm very picky about how clean cars are.

well is it cost effective/time efficient to take it somewhere or buy everything and do it yourself. Say a place will do the entire body and engine bay for $75... is that reasonable... dont get me wrong, I love to get that self satisfaction of doing something myself, but I also dont like when I expletive things up and then end up spending even more money

thanks for the help and i'll try 2 get pics that show the streaks/mark

I've never seen it anywhere that low.

And engine bays usually have little more done than get sprayed down and dried off (compressed air).

Remember that you don't know what they might use on your car if you bring it somewhere. Research if you plan to bring it to a business. I knew a car wash that had a detail shop too, but all cars that get detailed still go through the automated car wash (brushes and all).

And buffers don't usually come anywhere close to windows, which means that there will be big chunks that might not even have any attention. The bigger picture is what is usually worried about though and most customers would never have a problem with it.

It depends on how **** retentive you are about your car.

I'm thinking it probably needs a decent polish, maybe a compounding (can't tell how bad it is yet).

Sometimes glass can be cleaned, and sometimes it's nearly impossible. I have waterspots from acid rain on mine. I've done three acid baths and nothing changed. That should have fixed most water spots.

my friends father is good friends with an owner of a detailing shop... he would hook both of us up if we brought both cars in... i thought it was cheap as well... I was expecting to pay around $125... and if they put it through the car washer, I would be soooo pissed

Well, if you can make sure they carefully hand wash it, it might be worth your money.

Remember also that a lot of places "hand wash" with long brushes.

I'd just want to know what would be happening beforehand.
