My 88 std hatch
small update today. was able to take out my old carpet in between butt loads of rain today, and replaced my no name junky rca's with some kickers. I also decided to clean the floor pans before i put new carpet back in, man...... so gross. water was "chocolate milk brown" when the first of the four squares were done... by the time i was done washing the passenger side totaly it was nasty dark brown water... oh and i started re doing my dash harness to plug into the 90-91 fuse box.

nasty water:

i also decided that i would put off installing my ex knuckles for now. i want to install them once and not touch them again for a LOOOOOOONG time. in order to that i need to replace at least one of the wheel bearings (super stuff, kind of crunchy feeling), both ball joints, and i'd like to purchase extended wheel studs... that way i can install the replacement rear trailing arms i have as well (the si came with a stripped set, just hubs and spindles) at the same time.

wow thanks man! that means alot comming from you, your build is way cool.
small update, haven't done much to her due to rain, lack of funds, and being over whelmed with work bull ****, but i have the tuck 98% finished. i FINALLY did it the correct way too. i ran all the wires the correct length, i taped each plugs wires to each other in groups so if i have to trouble shoot down the road i'm not digging through random wires to find some thing ( like the ground and positive wires for the left corner lights are taped together. the bumper light ground and positive wire are taped together, etc.) just have to finish up the HID wiring on the passenger side and fog light n HID wiring on the drivers and i'll be done forevers. lol
i also have decided on a final color. i'm going with white. probably not championship white, but just a nice gloss white. it'll go nicely with what i have planned. i'll need to get my hands on a zc hood first though...
any ways here's pix of the final wire tuck this thing will get:

so yesterday (5/31) i fully finished my drivers side tuck, bolted my fender in, glued the broken tabs back onto the trim that is behind the window on the doors that runs vertical (****in thieves, braking into the car when the previous owner had it) took off the 90-91 plastic things from my carpet and installed my 88-89 plastic edges, and figured out how to mount my ballasts w/o zip ties... 3m foam double sticky tape! today i helped my buddy nick pull the motor and trans out of the crx hf that he's parting out. i'm buying the trans

i sware to god if i HAVE to buy (not want to buy) one more thing besides gas and tires for this thing i'm scrapping this thing. in the last couple of days i have bought:
fuel filter
engine filter
engine oil
trans oil
brake fluid
antifreeze
cap
rotor
plugs
three different heater hoses
and i'm sure i'm missing stuff, but i'm not officially tapped for cash lol

**** where do i sign up? it's not like ive spent hella money on "useful" parts either... like replacing my bushings or a cam or new wheel bearings or tie rods... it's all basic maintenance parts that i had to catch up on. oh well.
ugh not as much got done today as i had hoped, and i ended up having to ****ing buy a god damn evaporator since mine magically seems to have disappeared, but i NOW finally have the last part to get my car running
lol. yeah it sux i was supposed to get my car running but got busy selling my motor
all i managed to do was put on my throttle cable lol.
so did you scrap your old shell already?

naaaaaaaaah. they're sitting flat down. either way by then i'll have ordered HID's for my van, and the company on here said they had no problem throwing in an extra set of mounting brackets so i'll be replacing the tape w the brackets then
started off with my interior looking like this:

and ended the day with it looking like this:

what is not seen is that my alarm had to be fully re installed, i had to clean out a bunch of garbage, finish modding my dash harness so that the ciggy lighter is constant powered and would be pnp for my teggy cluster, and spent about 2 hours helping my buddy alex out installing a sub in his crx.
tomorrows goals:
finish interior
finish brake line swap and possible bleed brakes
install hood and t bar
swap my si gears and fd to my hf trannies shell
finish engine harness
convert ecu to manual
and if i have time
install motor and trans and attempt a start up

aite so small update. i got as far as attaching my flywheel and clutch to the engine, and set the belt timing and tightened down the alternator, then took apart my hf trans and swapped out the ring gear for the very much so nice 4.25fd from my si trans. interior is 99 percent done, just gotta tie up a few loose ends with that. purchased a vice today so i can finish my fd swap on my new transmission and then i just have to finish the brake lines and engine harness then put it all together. it'll be going by this week i hope.
thanks hybrid!
small update, i bolted my vice down to my work bench today, then torqued my ring gear to my diff, then took apart my countershaft and installed an hf 5th gear to my si 1st-4th gear set. man the counter shaft part of 5th gear is TINY!! lol it's so cute... hahahaha any ways here's a pic before i go rush off to work. i have tomorow and tuesday off so my goal is in and running by tuesday! although tomorrow would be nice, so i can take a nice long drive down the gorge to brake in my beasty

also, here's a pic of how i routed my ss brake line for the front:

and why my trans wouldn't go together... good thing i have spare parts!
