thanks! i have the pistons from a DOHC zc sitting on my shelf, and for the longest time i was going to do the high compression, but then reality hit me and i realized that it's not really practical to rock that kind of compression for a daily driver, at least not for me. but it is a fun thing to look into and play with, just make sure you have a GOOD tune!

wooo hoo more parts collecting... picked up a pair of chromed out projector head lights for free that i'm going to work on performing a projector retro fit on. also, picking up a set of (yes i know ew) 17's with meh tread for 200 bux from the same guy i got my headlights from. i'm kind of interested in seeing how they will look on my car. either way i'll finally be able to do my big brake swap because of the rims. if i don't like them i'm going to trade them with my girls 15' Enkies

do you have teh pictorz? i can probably get it, the guy i got my headlights and i'm getting my rims from has been parting out a wrecked crx hf he bought for the motor swap (dohc zc) and i've been doing pretty much the whole swap for him into a crx dx (we're swapping the whole body harness from the hf to the dx, then the motor since the dx body harness is shredded and the dx engine harness was sold) and he's been hooking me up with parts, hence the lights, and i'm getting the full core support since mine is tweaked (car was sideswiped in the rear)

sorry man i wasn't able to get the white thingy off w/o braking it. you may have to get new wiper linkage...

as far as what i did to my ef today... well i picked up MORE parts for it. got a strait legit core support for it (mine is tweaked from the car being backed into and my dumb *** jacking the car up by the support instead of the cross member) and some amp 17's that i'm going to TEMPORARILY rock on my car till i trade them out for my girl's fifteen inch enkies.

also, my buddies neighbor took me for a ride in his 400whp single turbo fd today... OMMFG!!!!!!! i nearly jizzed my self the first time he got on it. threw me so hard into my seat i felt like i was on a crazy *** roller coaster. then he got on it in second, broke traction (mind you he has heavy *** 18's on it) and then finally got traction again half way through third when he let off the gas. i was like... OMFG I WANT THIS!!! sorry itr, you've been backseated for a two stroke. my buddy also has one... they're both TEH SEKX. plus the brakes are freaking amazing on those things. and omg the blow off valve... the fast and the furious makes the rx7's seem slow compared to what they really can be...*drules...*

any ways here's a pic of the 17's i picked up, and a pic of the 15's that i'm going to get from my girl

the rims i'll end up with:

um the only thing that didn't go from the obd1 plugs to the obd0 plugs was the vtec wires and the o2 wires. and my obd1 wires were from an automatic, so i depinned all the junk for the auto trans crap

took a quick of how my car sits tonight since i just got home from work (working 4pm-1am sucks!!). looks all duck footed with the 17's on it, but this allows me to swap my ex knuckles onto my car (FINALLY!!). I'm going to see if i can't get tires for them from walmart since i get a discount.

any ways i suppose the 17's wouldn't look so bad if they were tucking (maybe??). they look ok on the front because of the amount of flair the fenders have, but the rears are almost flush and thus the wheels stick out further than the side panel, looking like ***.

will have better pix in the next couple of days.

lol they're temporary!! probably the only time my car will roll with the 17's on it is when i go get new tires for them (fronts are at tread bars, rears look like slicks). then they'll be instantly thrown on my girls car, and i'll get her 15's. these things are HEAVY too man. oh the sacrifices for rice... lol

At least they don't look so bad and are bearable. You sure those 15's that you are getting will fit over your EX brake calipers?

yeah the 17's aren't too un bearable, but they're just so big! (cue that's what she said) if i could find a set of rims like that in 15's i'd love them, i like that kind of design. as far as the ex brake swap goes, the ex sedan came stock with 14's, and they're the same size brakes as da's and dc's got, so 15's should be no problem. now, when i go and do my 11" brake swap, i'll probably have to get 16's

thanks!

i haven't done much of anything to it in the last couple of weeks because i've been helping my good friend and his brother get their crx project going.

here's what they started out with:

88 crx dx overall good condition with a blown (had three holes in the block from the rod snapping) jdm non vtec d15b (had a block off plate for carbs) with crummy seats and lots of rice.

they also picked up a 91 crx hf with a DOHC zc swap and nice si seats that had been majorly sideswiped.

i helped them pull apart the hf, remove the body harness, engine and trans, and then helped them install everything into the dx. we finally got it running tonight, and put everything back together. we ended up swapping the front body harness from the hf to the dx because they sold the engine harness and the dx body harness was chopped up hella. oh well. DOHC zc's are fun, really torquey.

any ways i now finally have time to start back in on my car. first thing tomorrow i'm going to get my transmission case all degreased, and i'm going to talk to my old shop teacher about helping me replace the bearings in my trans. also i picked up my motor today, so i'm going to start assembling it tomorrow or friday as well.
