My 88 std hatch
no mine has a gap too on the passenger side. isn't much you can do i don't think to make bot sides fit snugly. on mine, in order to make the gap on the passenger side go away the drivers side has to over lap. i'd rather have gap than over lap.
Okay so as the gf of DCRB I have been trying to keep my mouth shut, but when my car comes into the discussion I have to sound in... apekd if you didn't like my system why did you ride in the car?
Didnt you have subs in your car too?
The system in DCRBs car is perfect! doesn't hit to hard, but adds just the right bass to make it all sound good!

any hoo yesterday i put my alpine deck back in it and ordered an fm transmitter for it so i can use my ipod not make a new cd everyday. then today i finished removing everything that i could from my d15b, going to be taking it to my old h/s tomorrow to remove (hopefully) the crank pully and the flex plate, then will be hot tanking my block to get it all nice and pretty

Flexplate? Just take 2 3/8 drive extensions, a breaker bar, and a 1/2" drive ratchet with a breaker bar on it and they will pop right off. TRUST me, I have done that MANY times on other engines. Works just fine.
well my hatch finally took a big crap on me last night. started burning coolant like crazy last night while was at a bank in gresham sayin good night to my g/f (she drove behind me and we were going to depart half way to her house). any ways i managed to limp it home, and then smoked out my street when i had to move my car later last night. so now it sits in my drive way. not even going to mess with it. going to work on pulling the motor out and i'm going to make my engine bay look CLEAN. no dirt. no funky ford sparkly gray (nothing against it, just not my thing).
anyways today i took my d15b to my old h/s. hot tanked the motor and all the parts accept for the oil pump. everything is all clean now, so happy. just gotta order rings, gasket kit, timing belt kit and a clutch and i'll have my d15bvtec with an si trans. while my car is under the weather i'm going to work on converting my car to obd1. going to hone my block when get home later.

junk yard time!

By "anemic" I was meaning that the outlet port looked about as big as my baby sister's pinky toe. Take a small die bit, a drill, and a hours worth of time and looking over it. Then give it a small shim (.020" or so) and you are SURE to never have bearing failure and such. If you don't feel like you can port it, let a friend who has done one before do it. I have done many, and my first one took about 2 days to do. Messed up on one extra pump that I had laying around. Second one came out PERFECT. Still putting my dam Y8 together in my basement. But my .025" shim that I am using is the same size I put in my friends Y8. Works great!
oh lol yeah it does look kind of tiny doesn't it? my friend has shimmed his y8 oil pump, dunno if it will work but i guess it is worth a try. i got lucky and snagged an electronic vss today from a y7 tranny (manual tranny) so now i need to make a harness for it and figure out how to wire it up.
so i found some 5x7 infinity reference's at the junk yard today, going to install them in the back of my car. i held them up to another pair of pods i have layin around, and they look MUCH cleaner than the current set up i have (over sized 6 n 3/4" components with the tweeters mounted on the upper pillers. then i can move my rear tweeters up front so i can hear my front treble better. will post pix when i'm done
did several things today. modified my rear speaker brackets to accept the 5x7 infinities that i found yesterday, then installed them with some debadged mtx grills i had laying around. sound is amazing and i get a much cleaner look from them then my old alpine components. plus no tweeters chillin on the plastic pillar to draw attention.

then i vacuumed out my car since i made a bit of a mess with plastic and my dog shed all over my back seat. any ways i got that all cleaned up, then found a nice place for my fm transmitter to sit since it showed up while i was working on the speakrs:

then i installed and wired up my da map light. for any one that is curious i used two 2" pieces of hot water tank strapping stuff to hold it in place. i screwed a screw into the strapping stuff, making it so i can turn the screw and it moves the strapping stuff around incase i need to remove the map light.

oh and i also changed one of my tweeters (ran out of daylight/got cold and hungry/started raining before i got to the other one).

then comtemplated installing the other z6 head i have laying around on my d15b1 (the motor in my hatch) but the money it would cost didn't justify its self for me to be able to limp my car around a bit more, and would just set me that further back in assembling my d15b vtec. either way i need to buy an upper gasket kit, and for ten bux more i get the bottom set as well. so my honda will just sit in the driveway lookin funky till my motor is done.

overall not to hard once i over came the fear of messing up my headliner since i had to cut a hole in it. i just used a cutter knife with a fresh blade and it cut up the headliner no problem. after all, it's just cardboard and vinyl with some padding in between
