My 88 std hatch
well i think that my head might be slightly warped. not totally sure, but i'm thinking it is. that or my head studs weren't on tight enough. had a nice big plume yesterday when leaving my girlfriends house, followed by it not running correctly AT ALL. but i managed to limp it home. then today it seems to run fine. so i topped off the coolant (was low) and ran to my local auto parts store to get some stop leak to temporarily fix the problem untill i get my d15b all put together, which hopefully will be within the next week.

stock bolts. i re torqued the head bolts, and used half a bottle of aluminum stop leak. so far no problems, although it has been cold and rainy out today. i still say the car's got power problems, cuz it's kind of a weakling when starting out when i've got me and my buddy pat (who wants an ef really bad) my dog and all my lights on. oh well, will have a new motor in there soon (well new to me any ways)
mmmmmmmmmm drove it around town today, might have a job at a shop, just fixin problems on peoples cars. pay is blah, and it's only part time, but SOME pay is better than NO pay. smashed on it a little bit, dunno where redline is since i'm using a teg cluster, so when i do my motor swap i'll probably have it tuned for 8900 redline (hopefully if it makes power up to that)
WHEW i just got back from a nice 800 or so mile trip from portland to yakima to seattle to portland. unfortunately i didn't take this, i don't think it's ready for such a BIG journey so far away from home, but my van did just fine
any ways i'm going to work on wiring up my fog lights and my da map light, and swap out subs from my van to my civic this weekend, probly sunday since i start work tomorrow. close to home and RIGHT next door to PRE. so maybe i can get some info on parts.

meh it sucks. i dont think i want to work on peoples cars (other than my own and maybe a close friend or two). i'd rather go get my CNA and work my way up in the medical field
thanks to apekd i finaly have some yellow bulbs for my fogs, so i wired them up tonight.

while at the junk yard i found a prelude with fogs like mine, and snagged the brackets off of them. i'm happy!! also picked up an alpine cda 9847 deck with out the face plate or remote. going to buy those two, then replace my current alpine deck with this one. i like this one better because it has the pre outs for front rear and sub, as apposed to my deck which has just the sub out put.
bought a new collector gasket so i no longer will have an exhaust leak, and a rear wiper blade. now i just need to run the hoses to my rear hatch and to my hood and i'll be set.

thanks man! i still gotta get some thing sorted out, like the ignition timing and the valve lash (sounds like a tdi jetta right now) but it's comming together. one of these days i'll finish detailing my interior too. i wish i could figure out why it's running so rich... i might try switching the coolant temp sensor for the ecu with another one and see if it runs any better, i was told it might be that
they were some old school bosh fogs, not the stanley ones, and they too were both cracked a bit but they were at the foster u pull it on like 92nd and foster. believe me i would have snagged the whole set up if i had found the stanley fogs.
any ways today i installed my gsr center console, a screw for my dome light, a head liner trim piece that i was missing, and drove it on some back roads for a bit. MAN do i wish i had money for a clutch and fly wheel assy. my 4spd tranny SUCKS.

yeah it would because my clutch in my car is BRAND new. has like 200 miles on it. for the time being it's almost easier for me to find an 88 5spd tranny
mmmmmmm replaced the rear bumper filler piece with the matching orange one, replaced the bumper with a black one, lifted up the rear an inch so it rides smooth now, relocated my sub's amp to the back of the back seat so i can easily remove my sub, and then cruised out to crown point with my girlfriend. had fun, car drove good, even tho constantly shifting from 2nd-3rd-4th-3rd-2nd sucks but w/e i'll have my si trans in there eventually.
pic time!! lol

that's my g/f in the back ground.
