So autozone sucks. I ordered my energy suspension sway bar bushings and endlinks... and they said they would be in today by noon, and I went to pick them up at 4 and go work on the car for a bit, and the dude had no clue where they were or when they would be there...

 

Sorry for the lack of updates. I have been doing stunt shows all weekend.


I am leaving in a few to go work on the car, so should have some updates tonight. Also, wheels will be gone as of next week for something that I think will look a lot better on the car when its done.

I believe I found a painter... Waiting on a price quote for materials... and paint might be on in 2-3 weeks depending when on how fast the suspension work goes.

I also decided I am going to color match my front lip, rear lip, side moldings, and side skirts... Figured if I did not like it, I could always pick some stock black ones up from the junk yard and would be good as new again. Hopefully upload some new pics tonight when I get home from work

 

Alright. After about 2 weeks of being out of town and just plain busy, I finally got back to the garage to work on stuff again.

Laid a fresh coat of low gloss high temp paint on the WS2 exhaust.


Also put some fresh paint on my SRR rear brace/sway bar set up that I pulled off my last coupe. Flat black sway bar and silver brace to go with my silver Blox LCA's.


I changed my mind on the silver calipers since I am getting new wheels this weekend... So I went with red.


Started stripping stuff out of the bay and separating wires to tuck/hide them when I found this gem...

Nice cracked header... So looking for something else as of now until it gets swapped.

Also got the bumpers stripped down and ready for paint!


And then today, I called Autozone And my bushings and endlinks came in. After taking the dude on the phone 20mins to tell me they came in, I drove straight from work and waited in the store for another 20mins while another guy LOOKED for them. Lets just say i wont be going there to get any more car parts anytime soon...




My Volks will be gone as of this weekend too...

Updates have slowed down a little bit. Not getting home from work until 7 and it getting dark early has really killed my productivity. Not to mention, I am still waiting to get some parts back.

I am going to pick up/trade for my new wheels Friday.

Ordered a replica spoon front lip and some cheap ebay crap header to replace that cracked one for now. Should have better updates soon!

So I picked up my new wheels Friday night from Hatchbackgorilla! in Knoxville.

Super happy with the wheels! Thanks!

But on the way down to get them, my car lost a lot of power and was hesitating real bad. I thought it might be plugs, wires, or maybe dist. So when I pulled the #1 cyl plug out, and it was completely black... I had bad thoughts going through my head. I was halfway there, and said hell with it. Drove all the way down, and all the way back... and found out Saturday that I had 2lbs of compression in #1 cyl. Sucks. Just one more set back to getting this thing done. My goal is to have it done by Import Alliance so I can take it down there... Guess we will see.

Great build man I've been following it awhile. I know you're local but I don't think we've ever met. Do you ever go downtown? I don't see Kevin and Fred too much anymore but I stop out at Honda every now and then. Anyway the new wheels look sick. When is the second Nashville meet? I still haven't heard.

Thanks I rarely go downtown to hang out with everybody. I have been maybe 2 times all summer. Just seems like their is too many dumb people down there, doing stupid stuff... so I mostly try to stay away. I get tired of seeing 2 99% stock cars ripping *** past the lot... like the cops dont know where they came from...

eh, not really... I honestly rarely hit vtec in it. I guess that is what happens when the DD has 235k and some change... it looks a little worse because I drove the car about 6 hours on 3cyl's. because it happened half way to Knoxville! Sucked driving through the Smokey Mtn's with 3 cyl, a passanger, and 4 16" wheels and a BMX bike in your car...

UPS man brought me some more stuff today...

EGAY header to replace that cracked one... for now.


Also got a 'spoon ' polyurethane front lip...


Test fit on the beater....


Worked on the DD tonight. Should be good to go. Idle is a little rough, but will work on it when I have more time this weekend. I cant keep missing work, else my parts ordering would come to a stop

Talked to my friend that is going to be doing the paint... It SHOULD be getting primered this weekend. and hopefully be sprayed and on the road by the end of the month!

NO

Plans fell through and I had to fix some stuff on the DD. I had to reinstall an intake gasket due to the first one not being all the way cleaned off and having a massive vacuum leak. And also one of the hangers ripped off making a huge exhaust leak, so I replaced the B-pipe too. Sucks... puts me even further behind.

 

Sorry for the lack of updates. Getting issues taken care of with the DD has consumed most of my time.

Bushings are all almost pushed in, even though I was sent the wrong strut bushing for the rear, and they are not willing to help fix the problem

Ordered an energy suspension bushing to replace the ones that were wrong, because 'running a washer to make it work' as was suggested by the place I got them from, was not an option!

Should be getting a lot done this weekend, and should have pictures for my next update! Keep this thing on top, will have some good stuff in the next few days...

 

Sorry for the lack of updates. Been super busy and keep having my camera and my USB cable in different places at different times... But no more excuses! Car is now primered. Did it in the garage, and the neighbor's were far from happy when they came home and smelled the paint fumes! They had a few beers, and got over it pretty quickly though





Waiting on my suspension to be finished up... and then getting it to paint within a couple of weeks!

 

looks good so far. please do yourself a favor and take off the door trim by the window. it might take a second, but it'll snap out pretty easily.
