Default Milano Red EJ1 56K, NO WAY!

I am kind of new to the site, but after being told over and over to start a build thread, I am finally doing it.

I bought my first Honda about 1 1/2 years ago. I looked around for quite a while trying to find something clean here in the midwest. So I picked up this.

Being no longer employed and still in school with time to kill, I started to work on my car.

After being through a long winter, the 'surface rust' had now turned into quite a bit more serious. After a lot of thought, I came to the conclusion that instead of dumping money into this car, I wanted to start fresh.

So I started looking for a new car and turning this one back to stock.

Fast forward 3 months of looking at jank rusted out cars and I find this car while searching on craigslist and every other local forum I could find, and I find this.

I picked this 2 owner car up 80 miles north of Cincinnati. Has 240k miles, but was owned for 13 years by an older lady who had worked at the Honda dealership the entire time. After her, a family friend had purchased it after totaling her car and owned it for 6 months.

I drove it for 2 weeks to and from work and did not have a single issue with it, but it became time to start the build so I parked it in my grandma's garage and let the work begin.

My computer has been down for the last 2 weeks, so I have some catching up to do... but onto the start.

First thing was first. I started stripping the car apart. Cracked/damaged bumpers were thrown out and all the lights have been pulled out.

(Adam got a little sandpaper happy)

New pics and updates should be coming pretty regularly. I would like to thank all my friends that have been helping along the way from my first coupe to this one.

The only visible rust on the car started getting worked at...

Ended up being a little worse that it looked, like always... But still not bad for a 14 year old car from the mid west.

Another issue on the car was the trunk lock from a failed break in?

and passenger side door handle from same thing I would imagine.

Interior was pretty clean for a 94, but it was time to get that out of there for a few goodies...

Thanks As for the wheels, I think so... to see if I like the way it looks at least. If I dont like, I might try to sell/trade for something different.

Installed my junkyard cupholder where the stock CD/Tape playere would go... Took a little customizing, but went in nicely.

The hood is now on its way to being sanded and emblem shaved. Hood is straight, but has rock chips like no other that will all need to be sanded down.

Also got my cluster, climate control, defrost, cruise, and clock changed from stock yellowish/white to an amber color.

Some goodies came tonight thanks to B16b_coupe and his brother fred (I forget his name on here). I will get pictures of that stuff this weekend. UPS should be here tomorrow for some more too.

Thanks for the compliments everybody! Check back often for tons of new updates. I have been working on this thing everyday with some help from Ethan and Adam.

I just bought all new bulbs, and painted them competition orange from dupli-color high temperature paint (made for headers/VC's/ect.) Figured the hot bulbs would not have any effect on the high temp paint.

The climate control is pretty easy to get out with the lower console off and the CD player out. The hardest part are the 2 screws in the very front of it that you have to reach from underneath. Use this link. The guy did a real nice writeup. I should have done the same, but was lazy and just wanted to get it done.

Should have some more updates tonight or early int he morning!

Not a problem man. I just started ripping stuff out, and then I didnt want to mess anything up, so started doing some research but ran into the same problem. Glad it helped though! Good luck, its pretty easy though. I just did 1 layer of paint on the bulbs. Just keep it thin!

Get used to it. If your doing something that looks good and is budget oreintated your gunna get flamed because obviously your just trying to be trendy.
It couldn't possibly just be a coincidence that people like doing classy things that don't cost much...
Just do your thing and let people flame, we can't all have the cleanest paint sitting on built suspension being propeled by k26 stroker turbos...

Kids being into clean hondas! Baller

Got the car up on jack stands today so I could take off this complete pile of crap that was once called an exhaust

(Notice the Cherry bomb for a muffler...)
My new exhaust thanks to Kevin(b16b_coupe) and his brother fred(sirej8) is...

Also sprayed my rear calipers after it got dark. Wanted something that wasnt rust covered, but wasnt anything too crazy, so I went with silver...

When I got home, I had some goodies waiting from UPS thanks to WeakSauce!
Blox LCA's
NRG quick release and hub...

and to go on that set up... Momo Monte Carlo in a 320MM

Waiting on my SS brakelines that some how got over-looked by somebody and I didnt receive

But I also got my short shifter in tonight from alamomotorsports. Had to order it because local shops suck and have the worst hours possible

Until tomorrow
