Ford diesels never used a five bolt flange that Im aware of. Most used a split round flange or v band on the newer ones. Plus they were a t6 frame turbo if im not mistaking.

Have the battery checked for one. An engine takes about 9.6 Volts at bare min to start a car. It is possibly that you have a dead cell. If those check out good then come back to us.

You dont have to bleed your brakes by just unbolting it from the brake booster. It will move enough to get the alternator out.
