I wanted to do some random stuff. Working on a car in a garage, in a town.. is just too easy. Where’s the challenge? So we loaded up tools and courage, drive 3 hours, very far from any town.. and changed him clutch. I’ve always wanted to do a major repair in the middle of no where lol.

This is super hack for now. I am showing you my zits basically. Lol. I used a stereo amp fuse, 1AWG wire to 4AWG wire, electrical tape.. lol. Just needed to get it done so I had something to reinvent, and to be motivated and not in fear of unOEM’ing my shit. Drilled holes in my car. :(

I hate that this pic is sideways but I don’t want to fix it. I have two “water” temp gauges because one will be used for oil temp. I bought a proper adapter (1/8” npt female to 1/2” npt male” for my moroso oil pan to accept my AEM temp sensor.

The goods are in these bags. Idk why I have a pic of bags for you lol. COP harness, K series coils, and fuel pump wiring upgrade/relay— Burton Racing. They also installed the BBG and COP hardware into my ECU.

Well.. it’s relocated. But I am very not happy with it. I need it to be mounted. I also like the function of my glove box, the fuse box hits the dash bar when you try to close the glove box.. I am thinking of ditching my airbag and mounting under the cover. I hacked my glove box and will replace lol. Or reinvent my idea (better more thought out cuts) with a new fuse box even if I do keep it here. I am down sizing my power wire. It’s 1AWG now, but I’m going to set it up with 4AWG.

New rod. You know, I have the tools and knowledge.. but tend to get obsessive, I was going to say fuck it and trust machine shops work, trust bensoons work, trust part manufactures work,, trust plastigauge.. and just toss it together. By way of plastigauge, my main clearances were awesome, but rods were too tight it seemed.. this is with standard sized ACL race bearings. Sooo then I busted out the tools and such.. it’s damn hard to get an accurate measurement with a snapgauge for ID.

Here are the specs for my rod journals on the crank. The crank gives the letter C? I think.. can’t recall,, for every journal. So according to Honda, this crank was the same diameter +/- .00005? For every rod journal. I measured each journal 6 times in different places and took an average. Seems like reds or one step thicker may be what I’ll use.

What it comes down to is a manufacturing defect. See how the cut line of the rod on right is lower than the good rod on the left? I pitched my case to real street, real street contacted manley and manley sent me a new rod with a return shipping label for the old one. Pretty sweet seeing as I bought these a year ago!! Crap part is I had them weight matched and mass balanced right? So I must bring them back and have them match this rod to the rest. :(.

I picked up my rods but kind of got screwed! See how the bearing is sticking about the ends of the cap? Yes, you do need a little for bearing crush, like .006?? Can’t recall.. on the rod side, the bearing sunk way in. All other rods gave normal results. I also installed these bearings in other rods and they installed normally.

More little parts. I’ll probably have to order a small thing of parts like this a few more times. I just keep finding more things I need or want. Also, I sold my ATI street damper and bought an ATI Race Damper!

Spins soooo easy! I dropped off rods to be weight matched to all be the same to .5g, waiting to get them from machine shop.
