wich tires for summer and what ones for track?
Im gonna go ahead and just ask... whats the difference in performance between the Falken Azenis RT-215 Pure Sports and the BFGoodrich g-force T/A Drag Radial, the Nitto 555R, and the Nitto NT01 ?
I know the Falken Azenis can be ran on the street for a summer long or more cuzz i had them last summer but are the other tires basically just track tires?

When you talk about track tires, im assuming you mean draging.
From what i read about the BFG G-Force drag radials, they seem to be the best choice, but you sacrifice thread life compared to the Nitto 555R's. People have used the BFG's on the street but its just not cost effective at all, plus they get really hot with longer drives. The Nitto 555R is considered to be more of a streetable tire compared to the BFG.
I'm not sure why you included the Nitto NT01, because to me it seems to be more of a road racing/autocross tire.
The azenies 615 (215 are discontinued) are one of the best dry traction street tires available and is a good compromise if you rarely see the track, and if the car is street driven. I consider the Other tires you listed to be track tires because they have such poor thread life, and don't have great cornering abilities (excluding the NT01).
Great Summer Tire - Azenies
Great Drag Tire - BFG
Heres a good thread that discusses them. Also search in the drag racing forum, i'm sure they've discussed this tire plenty of times.

Nsxtasy, You think the NT01 is the best choice for track/strert? I'm just a bit confused by your post. I was expecting your masters thesis, not a .

Sorry; that's not what I meant. The was intended to refer to your entire post, not specifically to the NT01 (which I've never tried). I'll go edit it...
BTW, there are lots of really good road course type track tires out there, in addition to the NT01. Seems like almost everyone has one now - Hoosier (of course) R3S05, Toyo RA-1, Kumho (various V700/V710), Yokohama (A032R and A048), Michelin Pilot Sport Cup, Pirelli PZero Corsa, Hankook Z211 and Z214, etc....

Re: wich tires for summer and what ones for track? (nsxtasy)
Thanks for clearing that up.
And to the OP all the tires that nsxtasy listed are R compound tires, and if you use them at the track, make sure you have some track experiance first before using these because they give you less warning when they give out (not sure what the proper terminology is).

From what i've read 5k for the BFG's and around 10-12 for the Nitto's.

That makes sense to me. The Falkens are a favorite for autocross because of the stiff sidewall, but the tradeoff is that they're heavier. For dragging, you want light and you also want a soft sidewall.

i thought the Falken Azenis 615 tires were drifting tires or somthing ?
Im just saying this because of all the advertisments i see for these tires theyre on a 240 or some type of drifter?
so ima go wit the bf goodrich for the track then but for street the falkens are a good choice ... i just want a summer tire that is good for street and will last me the whole summer, with racing here and there but being able to have a really good launch advantage... basically the softest i can go on the streets for a summer.... rt 615's?

Are you an eight year old kid in a chat room? Because that's what your posts sound like. They're very hard to read, and that distracts from whatever question you're asking. What was the question again, but in English this time?

Please don't be a jackass on the streets and race. Yes the azenies is one of the best street tires available. You should expect between 8-11k, depending upon much abuse you put on them. I have seen people use a drag radial on the street but in my opinion its just a waste of money.

Re: (B bOy CrAyOn)
Guys, "Ima go wit" isn't that bad. Quit being picky. And I'm a copy editor, so it's my job to be offended.
If you want a summer tire that's softer than the Azenis, try the Hankook Ventus Z212, otherwise named the R-S2. It's another autox/summer tire that's not quite as heavy and rigid.
Although if you want maximum rubber contact for launches, the BFG probably has less empty space in the tread.

The Z212 is not softer than the Azenis. The Azenis is far stickier. As the autocross test in last August's Grassroots Motorsports demonstrated.
The Z212 is a good tire, but not as sticky as some other top street tires. It was ranked eight out of eleven for dry performance (autocross lap times, braking distance, and skidpad g's) in the Car and Driver test, which did not include the Azenis.
If you want to get the softest tire that's suitable for the street, get the Azenis RT-615.

Sorry, by "softer" I meant the sidewall. I guess I should have cleared that up. Yeah, the Azenis provides better overall grip (when cold at least), but that's from an autox mindset, I really don't know anything about drag racing.

Thanks for the clarification.
From a drag racing standpoint, the Azenis are better than any other street tire, but not as good as drag radials.
