Default endtank design/efficiency

i'm in the process of cutting up the endtanks for my intercooler, i was planning on doing a 'backdoor' style, with pipe welded to the back of the endtanks at 90 degrees.

before cutting though i figured i'd take a look at other smoother backdoor designs.
i found a webpage and came across this, seems like it would be a ton better for airflow

http://www.are.com.au/feat/techtalk/tt1001w.JPG

it would take alot more time to design than the 5 minutes it took to do regular endtanks.

i'm just curious though, will a design like this be that much more efficient, is it worth spending the extra time fabbing something a little smoother up or are the gains not really worth it.

thanks

it all depends on how much power you are planning on making i'd think. with higher pressures flow might make a difference, but if you're only aiming for 300hp, i don't think it will hold you back to have something with a 90 degree angle coming out the back of it. i think there are even better designs than that one as well. this is one i like:

not mine btw.

how is the sr20 mani coming?

that design is interesting, it still comes in at 90 degrees but flares, nice to see different designs.

haven't started the manifold yet, just finishing up the collector so i can make a jig to position it in the exact spot i want.

i actually wanted to ask you, where did you get the fitting that fits into your regulator for your backpurge setup. i can't find anything with pipe thread on one side that also threads into the regulator.
