INTERCOOLER! FullRace Or Precision
Just got thinking about something. Just wondering others thoughts. Which one would actually be more efficient, the backdoor or side inlet? Your gonna have two 90 degrees either way, but I would think the side in side out would be more efficient due to the fact that the 90 degree elbow coming off the turbo is curved where as the backdoor's 90 in the endtank is just a straight 90 degree causing resistance? What do you guys think?

Re: (BLKTeg94)
you cant go wrong with either..an intercooler is an intercooler is an intercooler. with two top of the line brands i doubt you'll see a difference in the two.
its a non moving part.

I went with a Bell Core and dual backdoor setup. With my particular setup there is less pressure drop across the intercooler but slightly higher intake temps. But I love the idea of less piping and I think it all equals out when you compare 2 90 degree bends vs. all that piping in a regular side to side setup

IMO... this format of "backdoor"... beats all (stolen from Tony1's thread btw)
Did a similar thing to an xspower fmic, not as integrated into endtanks, but has the same format and tucks around stock EF radiator...

This was I thread i had concerning the efficiency of it but talking to many top names here and in the industry found that it was just marketing scheme and it is a very good intercooler
but here is the thread with some pics of my set up

Basically you are comparing Bar & Plate (Garrett/Precision) to Tube and Fin (Full Race/PWR). From what Geoff has said, the tube and fin core that is on all Full-Race kit has less pressure drop.

How come most people run garrett/ precion cores?

alot of experts say that bar ad plate are superior to tube and fin which is what garrett and precision cores are but,Fullracepwr intercoolers are proven and they are tube and fin

Re: INTERCOOLER! FullRace Or Precision (darkdayz)
the only thing proven about tube in fin is that 90% of all tube and fin are cheap extruded cores, the ones that arnt (like the nice bar and plate of precision) ex: Johnnyracecar.com are very good and preform just as well as a bar and plate.
I always recommend either johnnyracecar.com 8" for 450 hp or less and precision for anything more (or custom from me of caurse ) they are just the most cost effecient designs out there.
