A couple of small updates for you lol... Ive been really busy working on a customer's car running one of my prototypes..

Ive designed a water injection system.. I dont really want to go into it but its microprocessor controlled, and ensures a constant ratio of water to fuel as the engine output increases. The system uses a flow sensor to measure the amount of water being injected every moment and throttles the pump accordingly.. Thus rendering system pressure irrelevant..

Its a second hand system so i didnt mind modifying it with a float switch and flow sensor.. For some reason the non-return valve is at the pump instead of the intake, a bit weird as it will cause additional priming time..

On another note, my new coils arrived, to prove my coil on plug converter works driving stand alone coils.. As i said- i havnt had time to do anything apart from modify the HT leads, but heres a little taster..

*Takes look at engine....*

This intrigues me more and more. I think you keep adding stuff so you'll never be finished! hahaha Kidding of course.

To be honest youre correct mate..

I managed to sell my audi coil packs to help fund these coils, plus i had the HT leads already..

The only other setback has been the windows, i didnt expect the rear window to go so im forced to either spend a fortune replacing it with OEM or upgrade the whole lot to lexan..

I need to get the respray done asap though..

Well put! This is by far one of the most ambitious builds i have ever witnessed on a Civic! LOL! Pretty much what i'd imagine VW went through when trying to develop the Bugatti Veyron, scaled down with a 1000th of the cost!

You have to remember that VW is the third largest automotive company in the world. They own Porsche too, so they had a lot of experience with turbo's and AWD systems before they built the Veyron.

Yeah i'm familiar with what VW has been dabbling with. Can't believe how big they've grown in the last decade!

Just wanted to say that I came on hear tonight to browse some Fab pictures. I stumbled on a awd post and figured I'd check it out. I've been staring at this project for the past hour just digging through the details. I'm floored I can't wait to see the project finished.

Thanks mate, thats really nice to hear...

Unfortunately im struggling with the car now.. A year ago i set up the business to pay for the respray and recently had enough to do it.. For safety sake i decided to hang on a bit longer to get more than i needed (as a backup incase costs increased for whatever reason).

Unfortunately some problems occured at home, and development of another product required some test equipment. Im now back to square 1, completely skint again.

The civic is unfortunately sat in my drive, now without a rear window, rusting away and there is nothing i can do about it.. Im going to of course carry on regardless (the british way- stiff upper lip and all that) but if i dont see an end in sight soon, im going to have to abandon this..

Needless to say, i havnt made much progress recently at all, ive been busy trying to develop a coil on plug converter for people using Honda ECUs which want to run coil packs, its required some development to get it perfect, so im behind with my orderes.. However, over the weekend i had a spare moment to do a bit of work on my own car..

As the radiator is mounted in the boot, i needed to duct the air in from the sides.. Having thought about it- i didnt believe that the side intakes, especially being NACA as opposed to aerodynamically intrusive scoops would flow enough air. I redesigned it to have 2x 8" intakes, but also had to form the shape around the active wing actuator.

To do this, i made a mould out of insulation foam, PVAd together and made a hot wire cutter to cut it to shape. Only rough being strictly for function and unseen at the back of the boot so it didnt matter.

I covered it in cling film and applied the fibreglass and resin. Then covered it again in cling film to hold the fibreglass on the -ve slopes.. It has come out very very well for a first go..

Im going to use a similar process to design my own side intakes. It will follow a NACA profile, but duct and expand inwards to the 8" piping.. This will then pass through the rear firewall, past the actuator and into the radiator.

The best thing to do to stay motivated is just get the car together and streetable for now. Then worry about getting the car painted later. That's how I'm going to approach it when I get finished with school and get the chance to get back on my project. Because if you do it any other way, you'll never see the end of this project.

Well i have had some amazing news from the UK.

I have managed to get a sponsor on board, ill reveal more details soon, but needless to say they have been a great help.

Im asking a few other companies to see if they are interested, needless to say though i am so thankful!

Also, there has been an amazing amount of support from the UK. In a few weeks, a chap is driving a few hundred miles to spend the weekend with me working on the body, this will save alot of money at the bodyshop and hopefully make it alot more affordable!

The group buy with the lexan windows is going well, and the order should be going in soon!

I still need the business to pay its own way, and with a slight redesign of the S2000 converters i should be okay with them. Plus i am releasing my Coil On Plug converter for the B, D and H series which has attracted some interest.. Every little helps

I might be interested in your COP ignition for one of my projects. I have been looking for an affordable means of converting over. Let me know about bout cost + shipping. If you do it for around $400, I would rether see my money go to another enthusiast. Send me an Email zz383mero@gmail.com

Ive made a bit of time recently to do a bit more work..

I changed the side intakes (please dont judge lol they are far from finished) to increase the plumbing to the radiator.

The intake doesnt look too pleasant, the shape is pretty much there it just needs smoothing out..

I also made a cowling for the rear of the oil cooler. The idea is that the oil cooler will vent out of the side preventing stone chips damaging the back of the cooler / fan..

It still needs dressing off quite alot but its getting there.. Ill be doing the same with the other side PS and transmission coolers and also ducting the oil cooler from the front too due to the tight angle its sat at..

Also a huge thankyou to Samco Sport for helping me out with some silicone hoses for the engine..

The filter is an "RC-5102".

It truely is massive, the biggest i could fit in the area i have available..

I had a good experiance with my last K&N so I wanted a new one.. For a laugh last night i put it straight on the turbo (4" inlet). Looks ridiculous lol, half the side of the engine. But it serves a purpose and K&N did me proud!

I have now finished modifying the rear diff.. With the help from an awesome chap on a UK car forum, who machined the parts i designed. I can now supply external hydraulic pressure to the rear CRV diff / clutch pack to change the AWD bias..

Its slow progress at the moment as i am really busy working on customers' projects and im rather behind...

I have started getting alot of help from people on the various forums, as well as some companies, and those people know who they are- i really cant thank them enough!!
