Default vtec question

this is a silly question, but im not 100% sure. i read some where that most civic's from '95 to '00 have vtec engines, and my car manual says that my car is supposed to have a vtec engine, but the engine isnt plastered with the ''vtec'' that is on other vtec engines and nowher on my engine does it say, my question was could it be a vtec with out saying it? im pretty sure no , but another opinion would be nice

I dont know D series engine codes. If you look on the stamp and post it someone here will tell you. Also, if on the left side of the motor in front of the disty there is a small thing that looks like a little coffee can with a green plug under it... it would be vtec.
