VTEC Check Engine Lighti
i just swapped in my b16a sir-ll into my EG. it came with a jdm p30 ecu. the intake manifold ditn have an evap purge and map sensor and it is throwing a code cuz my check engine light is on. My vtec doesnt engage at all. what could be wrong? is it true that vtec doesnt engage when check engine light is on?
When I first got my vtec mini me swap done I had an O2 heater code and I was certain that I didn't have vtec either. I'm not 100% sure, but that was my experience. I'll ask around and see what I can find out for ya.
when i bought my car they cut the plug off where u would stick the paper clips in to check the codes. i tried on using the paper clips on the 2 wires that are they but they dont do anything. checking the codes is out of the question then unless you guys know another way.
did you strip the wires and just twist em or touch them together? Just because the plug is cut off doesn't mean the wires aren't still connected to the ecu. Just strip em and touch em together and you should get your codes.
