Like the title says, Vtec won't engage. I have a check engine light on, which I would assume is the reason why vtec isn't working. I tried jumping the codes but when I turn the ignition on, the CEL comes on for like half a second, then goes out and doesn't come back on again. As soon as I pull the wire out of the plug, it comes on and it stays solid. WTF do I do now? I have a Hondata s200, is there a way to pull the codes off of that, and if so, what's required? Will I have to go back to my tuner for them to get the codes? Is there another way I can jump the codes? Any advice? I've already checked the oil and there's pleanty so I know that's not the culprit.
this happens to me on my s100 you pretty much need your tunner to check it but just try to find the problem check the wires going to the vtec solinoid and also anyother plugsr/sensors that may have came loose look under the dizzy between the vtec sol. theres a plug that gets disconected sometimes. gl

Went and checked this morning, nothing is unplugged. I've had a suspision that my O2 sensor was going bad, if it is bad would this be something that would keep me out of VTEC? Also, when you fix whatevers wrong, will the CEL turn off, or does it need to be reset?

usually, the ECM needs to be reset for the code to clear. just pull the two fuses under the hood for ECM and radio backup for 5 minutes. make sure you've got your radio code.

I disconnected the battery, but only for about a minute or so and it didn't do anything. I assume disconnecting it for 5 minutes or more is required to reset everything?
your not gettin vtec so you need to pull codes are u ****ing serious dude? why not check the vtec solenoid nby takin it out see if its plugged. also why not check the wiring for voltage and evertyhing hmm instead of looking and sayin its good. and an o2 sensor knocking out vtec is impoosible

o2 mil shouldnt contribute to a lack of vtec engagement.
Check oil level first! Make sure your speedo is functioning and or plugged in VSS will not allow engagement. If it has oil - and if you can chk. oil pressure than do it. If not, look under car and make sure the bottom of your oilpan isnt banged in, from jacking, speedbumps, etc... If it is, and you can't pull any MIL codes, then drop oilpan bang flat from inside with rubber mallet, check pick-up tube for damage or blockage, straighten if neccessary at the pick-up screen and re-install.
After all this - if you find nothing, lite it on fire! No im kidding, just re-post your finding if anything.
Cheers
