Default Need Help with Check Engine Light / VTEC

I just had my ECU chipped to have the VTEC kick in at 4800 RPMs. When I reach this, the VTEC does kick in, but the check engine light goes on. However, when I turn the car off and start it again, the check engine light is gone.
When my VTEC kicks in, it seems like there is a loss of power. It sounds loud but the car instantly stops accelerating as quickly as it did before the VTEC kicked in. Could the problem be a bad VTEC solenoid?? If it is all in my head and the VTEC is fine, what is the check engine light for??

It's on the pass side up under the dash, by the kick panel. Did you watch the video that was linked in there?

if it worked fine before, but not since you lowered vtec, then it's pretty safe to say you are lacking the oil pressure at 4800 rpms that you need for vtec. Did you change anything other than the chip?

check your wiring.

Solenoid (one wire plug) - A4
Pressure Switch - D6
Pressure Switch Ground - A26, or ground to the head.

If the wiring is good, check the screen in the sensor and make sure its not obstructed.

Is your head clicking bad? If so, maybe need a simple valve adjustment due to valve flow.

Since no one asked this quesiton, why in the world did you lower VTEC crossover to 4,800 RPM? Have you tuned this engine to completely know that you are making power by switching VTEC to a lower point?

Give us more information about what you have done to your car to determine what went wrong.

As far as "not knowing what a lot is", do a valve adjustment and adjust valve lash to OEM-spec clearances. Then, you'll at least know it's not that.
