Default Vortech supercharger

wat up?

couple questions about the vortech supercharger for the B18c....i know its a sc but also has some qualities from a turbo...but in terms of boost setting, can it be adjusted like a turbo wit the use of a boost controller or like a sc with the changing of a pulley?..thanks alot...are their any negatives about it plz let me know..and your personal opinions on it..thanks

My advice.... If you want to go fast get turbo. If you want high hp #s but slow times get vortec. If you just want flatter torque constant boost but not as fast as turbo get jrsc. I'm no expert on vortec but since it is a supercharger i'd guess that it would need pulleys to upgrade boost. Don't get vortec its not gona get you the times or speed you want. Take a vortec gsr vs jrsced gsr at the track and see what happens(jr will win). Throw in a drag 3 gsr and then we have a drag strip winner.

The reason that thing sucks my balzack is that its a turbo that is allowed to slow down. A turbo operates best at a specific rpm. The Vortech stupidcharger is like a turbo in that the amount of air it moves is variable. At high rpms it moves more cfm and at lower its less. With a turbo, its not slowing down when you shift because its not based on engine rpm. So when you shift, your still making power if your turbo is boosting. But if you have a Vortech stupidcharger your power drops when you shift and the thing slows down again. Not until higher in the rpm band will it move a lot of cfm again. Thats why they make good PEAK hp figures, and thats why that thing sucks my balzack.

The vortech supercharger has a great power pontential even though its pricey. Check out this guys EG hatchback with a vortech supercharger, he is hitting 13.1 with 8psi and 12.4 with 10psi. Now if you call that slow, i am speechless
